This bowl has worked great for my goldendoodle with long hair. She was dripping water every time she drank water and this has eliminated a lot of the mess. There are still a few drips but not as bad as a regular bowl. The top piece is a little difficult to remove from the bowl which makes it hard to clean. Beth leak proof even if you try to dump the water out.

I bought two for my Bulldogs and Frenchies for indoor use to cut down on the water mess on my floor. Definitely has helped tremendously!

Originally got these for our Scotty dogs, years ago, to keep their beards from getting wet and splashing water all over the kitchen. The bowl works fine for that and even a dog with no beard makes less of a mess when drinking from this bowl.The plastic used for the lid has changed. The old product had a softer plastic lid which was much easier to get off, but also wore out sooner. (The lids wear out. The bowl part will last for generations, I'm sure!) Now the lids are made of a more rigid plastic which doesn't break as easily but is much more difficult to get off the bown for washing. I'd prefer a soft lid, sold separately so you can just replace it when it tears.

I’ve used these bowls for my dogs for years and they work great, especially for long ear dogs like spaniels. My new puppy chewed up the lid when he was frustrated because he was out of water (our fault) so I ordered a new one. It arrived today - without the lid. Obviously there’s not a lot of quality control before the item goes out. I will have to return it now, which is a pain in the butt, and order another one with hopes that they don’t make the same mistake.

This bowl does a great job of keeping the water in the bowl while travelling, I would recommend this for anyone with dogs in their RV. I have bigger bowls I get out when we reach our destination but while we are moving this is perfect. My only gripe with this item and reason for docking a star is that the lid is hard to get off. If there was a tab or something to grip onto it would probably help. I clean it at least twice a day when it's in use and I hate it every time. Great product otherwise though, even keeps the puppy from putting her paws in the water.

Don't trust imitations-- this is the original no-spill water bowl for dogs.This bowl has a solid base that resists slipping. Water will slosh around but only drops splash out.I even take it to the dog park because some of the dogs love to tip water bowls over or dig in the bowl and the Valterra bowl prevents this.If the bowl is tipped over, water does come out (come on-- it does not have god-like powers!), but the mess is minimal compared to any other water container left with a dog. If you want to keep any from spilling out, don't fill the bowl more than half-way.

I have been using the Water Hole for over 10 years -- at home and at dog shows. It is wonderful! My large dogs have long coat on their muzzles. While some drink with minimal dripping, others do not. This bowl keeps dripping to a minimum. It is lightweight (unlike similar bowls that I found) and easy to clean. I highly recommend it.

For the price I wasn't expecting outstanding quality. It was good enough for what I needed it for. It's a fight to get the lids on. Once on they do an ok job to keep your dog from spilling. But the lids were easy for my guys to knock back off.

We travelled all summer in the transport truck with our dog and cat. They were able to drink whenever they wanted once we received this bowl. A great option for them to be able to drink when they were thirsty instead of when we stopped and used a regular bowl. They have a very tight seal on them so no spillage either. We were very happy with our purchase.

These dishes are perfect for travelling when you want your pet to have access to water while on the road. The lid totally prevents the water from spilling out (if you don't over fill it). I've even had it dumped right upside down and the water stayed inside. I've used these dishes for German Shepherds and Great Pyrenese/Newfoundland with no issues. Highly recommend.

Bowl took awhile to arrive but worth it. I have Cavaliers with long ears so this bowl helps keep their ears out of the water. Seems sturdy and long lasting. I would purchase again from this seller. Thank you

We have Basset Hounds and have used this type of waterbowl for over 30 years. It’s not perfect as they can dip their ears in the water, but it is very helpful to reduce the mess. After a few years use, the lid will get loose, but the dish still works fine for food. They are a staple in our house (and car when we travel).

The bowl didn’t have a lid. As a spill proof bowl it’s a total fail! Now out of stock- so as I don’t want an expensive plastic bowl I will have to return it.
