The 42in works better than the 36in if you plan on adding any pouches to the Molle straps on the ends. It holds my AK very well. I can put two AK 30 round mags in each of the two side pockets. So, it can hold 4 AK 30 round mags comfortably. The middle pocket is a little bigger and can hold a variety of items. Great bag and I love the backpack strap feature. when my hands are full, it's being used. I put two molle pouches on the straps just outside of the two side pockets. One pouch holds extra ammo and the other pouch holds small screws, batteries, screw driver, ear plugs, etc. Solid and durable. Definetly would recommend.

Even though a few reviewers had zipper failures, I bought it anyway and the two outside zippers failed after one opening. The case itself is really one of the best made cases i have but becomes useless with cheap zippers. dont buy this one, buy another brand

As titled, the zippers are weak and not working now. I hope better zippers are used for the product.

I bought this case for my Remington 700 VTR. The case is a little snug in the length but the width was approriate. I can also fit my broken down AR in the next largest pouch and still have more than enough room for ammo, tools and a handgun. It is very well built with durable materials.

I do not use the case very often but have had it a few years. The two main zippers broke after only a few uses. The zippers appear to be made of a cheap material

I use this to carry my scoped AR15. It fits with ample room and protects my rifle very well. And the pockets are great for carrying multiple magazines, detachable bipod, mag pouch, and small tool kit. I recently went to a shoot where I had to do alot of walking around for hours with this case, and the backpack-style straps made that much more pleasent. I am very pleased with this case.

Amazing how much the price has gone up on this items just a couple of weeks before Christmas. I won't bother wasting my time on a product review when I see how they manipulate the price according to the holiday season.
