Timber Rattler Western Outlaw Bowie Knife Full Tang - 16.5” Length

This is the second one I’ve purchased. These are great blades for fun or show! It’ll definitely start a conversation! The bad reviews talk about the quality of the handle! If you buy a 40 dollar knife and expect perfection then you’re probably not the brightest person in your circle! I like it rehandle them, see pic! My other one is used for meat processing! It holds an edge just fine! Well worth the price for a “not perfect” handle. The sheath isn’t high quality but I make those too! So, to me, a 40 dollar blade that is this tough and thick is perfect! Its appearance is beefy and it balances in the hand! Love this thing! Might get some for my kids too!

The first one was junk and full of factory defects. The replacement was much much better and well worth the money. It's not perfect but don't expect it to be for $39. I bought it for a cheaper large knife I can sharpen up on a Wicked Edge guided sharpener to shaving sharp. I cleaned up the gunky brass and polished the blade. I plan on using it for a cheaper alternative truck and barn/garage knife for self defense mostly. You don't really want to leave $150+ knives in your vehicle or laying on the workbench out in the barn or garage while out there working late at night and things like that. Lot's of times while out fishing and in your truck/boat something like this would be handy too. It's obviously one solid piece of steel and full tang. Short of gross abuse prying with it or throwing it I can't see hurting it much. That's not what I bought this for or plan to abuse it to baton wood either. It's going to be shaving sharp and used to supplement a CCW for self defense.

This is a big heavy impressive blade! It is well made and very solid, and thick. I used this for cutting up camp fire kindling and splitting small fire wood oak logs that were well dried (batoning). It held up great, and I mean I beat on this blade. The grip is easy to index and comfortable. It is heavy (over 2 pounds) which is good or bad depending on your application, I happen to like the weight This blade could take the place of a small hatchet and be used for other camp duties. It is a good looking knife that you will enjoy handling. It is made of "TR65" steel.. not sure what exactly that is, but unfortunately no matter how you hone this knife.. it will hold a razor sharp edge. I worked on the blade with my honing stones and could not get that easy slice edge. If you are looking for a edge of a D2 steel.. this is not the knife for you. However, for the price.. given the style and durability of this blade. hard to beat. This is a knife that you can carry in your truck and hammer on when needed, and not worry about damage. You will only need one of these! Save you expensive blades for razor edge cuts.. use this brute like a bull dozer.

After reading some of the reviews and eyeing this big daddy for some time, I decided to pick up two when they dropped to $15 each. I was not and am still not disappointed at all. It is not of the greates build quality for sure, nor is it a Ka Bar or anything, but man, this thing is a giant. With right at a 1 FOOT (yeah you read it right) long blade, a good feel in the hand, and the instant increase to your badassery level while wielding it, is more than worth the purchase. The blade is not of the best steel, and if left in the sheath, will rust pretty quick. However, if you get some gun or honing oil and treat the blade once every couple weeks, should not be an issue. I have had it for over a month now and have not seen a single spec. This blade is so unruly big do not plan on doing much functionally with it, unless you spend weekends hunting Bigfoot, Aliens, or want to attempt chopping small vehicles in half... this it could do. I hear that the Predator has signed on for endorsements just so it can get a direct line to get some for his next hunt in the jungle. It is too heavy to use without exhaustion for a camp knife, too big for bushcraft of any kind, not quality enough to be a survival knife, not sharp enough to shave with.... but once you pull this thing from its (surprisingly well made and functioning) sheath and stare in the mirror with your war face on, you will know why you bought it. Crocodile Dundee has been quoted saying, "That's not a knoif... it's a damn showt sowd mate!."

This is one huge chopping knife for sure. Mine came right after Hurricane Irene and I was out in the yard hacking off inch and a half branches with one hefty swing, and three inch branches with two or three hacks. The weight of the knife with a long swing does all the work. I love owning this beast and showing it off for my brothers and nephews. But on the other hand it's so darn big and heavy for most purposes I think it's just not a practical tool for a wannabee woodsman, or may even for a real woodsman. With the scabbard it feels like it weighs five pounds, and wearing it on my belt would probably pull my pants down. Also it's so heavy and pretty sharp out of the box, enough for chopping anyway, that it really puts the fear (into me anyway) of accidentally cutting my thumb completely off my hand. One downside too in a sense is that to non-knife buyers it looks like a weapon for very seriously ill-intentioned people. I mean if you took a hatchet or small axe out of your car to do some work, no big deal. If you took out this knife for very similar use, people would consider calling the police. It's so big and heavy that the pommel can probably be used to hammer 20p nails. It's also a very nice knife aesthetically too. Nice polished steel and the handle is nice; fits into you hand nicely. For the price, this is one of the best deals around in my opinion. Maybe more of a novelty than a tool for daily or regular use, but for twenty bucks I really like this item.

This definitely made me chuckle a bit on opening the package, sort of like looking at a gag item that's 3 times larger than usual. Once you get over how kind of funny this really huge knife is to look at, you do realize that as a working camp tool, this thing is actually pretty usable, and maybe even practical, and at the price offered you won't really be afraid to use and abuse it. It arrived nicely sharp. Without having to sharpen it, it cut a sheet of paper cleanly down the entire 11" length in the middle while holding the paper from the corner, and then as a more difficult test cut a 1/2" wide strip right next the previous cut. I was impressed. I had it with as a backup, and actually used (and wore) it on one day of my recent hunting trip (I had to repair the belt loop on my regular-sized hunting knife's sheath). The weight was noticeable at first, but once used to that, for most of the day it was easy to forget it was there, but comforting when I remembered. It, together with a small folding knife would fill the needs of most cutting tools. It's sharp enough for easy general carving, and heavy enough to use as a cleaver. You can easily replace a hatchet or small ax with this -- photo attached to prove it! This was just messing around, but note the big chips and a 6 inch balsam log cut in half to fit the fire ring in about 5 minutes. You could split larger pieces with this and a field-cut baton. It'd be tiring due to weight, but would serve well as a machete / parang. You'd abuse it a lot, but it could be pressed into dirt digging duties if needed, and you'd trust it. You could probably use the thick back edge as a hammer. These are all good things as I planned this as a working camp tool / survival tool rather than as a show piece. I've never been in, nor plan to be in, a knife fight, but the intimidation factor of this, like the knife itself, is pretty large (think of the scene in the movie Crocodile Dundee). It'd probably be slow, as it has a lot of mass to get moving, but the solid hit it could deliver would be downright scary. The knife itself is very solid and actually feels very well balanced in the hand. While not 100% perfect flawless in finish on the handle, at a solid 99% it is much better than I expected for the price. I'm very happy with the construction. The guard and pommel seem like they'll do a great job of protecting your hand and providing leverage in certain situations. The sheath is pretty good. There were some small marks on the back of mine like it was pressed on top of another sheath and the stitching from the one below left impressions in the back of my sheath. They'll probably fade as it gets used, however, and again, they're on the back, so no big deal. A lower tie down strap should probably be added if you're going to try to run while wearing it.

Right out of the box this thing had some issues, quality assurance on these things has never been excellent on these but the newer ones are far from the older models. My knife arrived without any real edge it was so rough and jagged that it couldn’t even cut just sort of tore and ripped at things. This wasn’t a big deal after running it through a work sharp blade sharpener; I will give the knife credit where it’s due this thing once it has an edge will hold it pretty well, the steel is thick and holds up great to any sort of abuse. The handle is relatively comfortable and the brass fittings aren’t terrible they’ll do fine for most uses. As for the sheath this is not gonna hold up for long term it’s a very thin leather and quite frankly just not stiff enough to support a blade of this weight and size. If you’re looking for a good work knife that you can put the hell or high water, this is a good choice just be willing to do a bit of work when you get it.

Didn’t know what to expect. For what I paid, I was only expecting a “backyard” tool or probably just something for the shelf or wall. Man was I fooled. This thing is more than I thought. Has good weight for its size, made from quality steel. Handle fits great for my size of hand, and no loose parts. I LOVE the shape and appearance of this knife, and the polish is rather nice. Even the wood handle (solid wood, not that hollow junk) isn’t as slippery as one might think when wet or moist. My only “gripe” is that it came out of the box a bit dull. But a belt grinder and 7 minutes turned it into a razor, and they hold an edge really well so far. Not my absolute #1 first choice, among my collection, for survival situations, but it’s at least #3 choice. I would trust this blade if really needed. Great value for any knife. This is a must have for Bowie enthusiasts

Después de hacer pruebas destructivas de toda clase con troncos de mezquite, árboles medio secos, ramas gruesas, no le hicieron mella al cuchillo, no venía con mucho filo pero es comprensible por que corta y parte por geometría, lo afile como afilo las hachas y agarro un filo impresionante 🤩, de hecho rasura y la prueba del papel paso sin problemas, es un excelente cuchillo lo recomiendo ampliamente

El producto se vende en este sitio al doble del precio original, por el.precio original creo que es un cuchillo muy bueno pero no vale la pena pagar aqui el doble se su precio, la hoja viene con varios detalles de fabricacion, y la funda es de muy mala calidad
