A mother and child share so much together--countless milestones, simple joys, unexpected challenges, and all the little surprising moments in between. This five-year journal will help you capture it all--simply turn to today's date and take a few moments to answer the question at the top of the page. As the journal fills, it will become a loving record and cherished family keepsake. Review: My favorite way to end each day - I started this journal January 1 of this year and so far I love it. I try to keep up with some journaling and recording memories for my kids, but it's hard to keep up with and then I feel pressure to make it perfect. This journal is great because it has a different question for each day. No need to think of amazing things that happened each day. No need to have profound thoughts about motherhood. The books guides with sometimes simple, sometimes more thought-provoking questions. It has already led me to write down and record things that I wouldn't have thought to otherwise, such as a funny face my child makes, or a "recent first". I keep it on my nightstand, and try to write in it each evening. I also look ahead to the next day's question, so I have it in mind the following day. It's also a great little journal because missing a day or two is no big deal. It's easy catch up on because it's not based on a specific day's memories. I love the multi-year aspect of it, and I just know how fun it will be in future years as I'm filling in the spaces, to look back at my prior answers. As my children grow and motherhood changes, the memories will be priceless. I hope they will love reading it one day too. This book will be on my list of gift ideas for mom friends who are past the baby stage, as the book can be used by moms with kids of any age, and really makes it easy to remember and record small details that will mean so much to remember later. Review: Perfect Memory Journal! - Confession: I bought this for a Christmas gift, but started thumbing through the pages and fell in love with the concept. I've started using it myself, and will have to purchase a second copy for the intended recipient! :) But I really do love this little book. I think many of us would agree that the ordinary details of today are going to end up being the sweet and special memories of tomorrow - if only we could remember them! And that's where this little gem comes in handy. I bought a similar book when my toddler was first born, but that book did not have any questions/prompts, just blank pages. I kept up with it at first, but eventually got to a point where I didn't know what to write. It can be hard to think of something original to write every single day. But with this book, the simple questions get me writing down memories I never would've thought to record, but know that one day I will love reading! Sample questions include, "One smell I associate with my child right now is _____, " "My child's newest friend is ______" and "What is getting easier these days?" Highly recommend, although if I could give 4.999 stars instead of 5, I probably would, only because I feel like the book would be even better if it was a little bigger. If you have more than one child and want to answer the questions for both of them, you will have to write pretty small.

Perfect Memory Journal!

My mother cried when I gave her this because of how thoughtful it was
Considering I’d forgotten until a couple days beforehand and then procrastinated until the last minute and then searched “gift for moms” and this was the Amazon’s choice when sorting from lowest price to highest because I was gonna have to pay for next day shipping, I’d say the journal as a gift is an absolute win. The journal made her day, and saved mine. She told me it was one of the most thoughtful gifts she’d ever gotten (my dad got her a treadmill) and that was saying something because the Christmas before I’d spent a couple of days designing a t shirt for her that had a photoshopped picture of her and the words “meth, not even once” in large lettering. I realize that might sound bizarre but the context would take forever to explain and do it justice. But basically when I was a teenager we moved and started at a new church I impulsively told my new Sunday school teacher that my mom used to be a meth addict, because I was annoyed and thought she was being nosy, and that idiot believed me and told everybody. So for the next like month everybody thought my mother used to do meth until somebody said something to my mother about how her recovery had inspired her or whatever and my mom was like “lol what?” But back to the journal my mother is on the second year of using this journal and she says what she likes is being able to look at the question and see her answer from a year ago and then compare it to her answer now. I’ve bought another one of these journals for my sister (not the type for moms but the same brand/maker) and she also likes hers very much. 5 👍

Great Addition to Q&A for Kids
The book has nice binding that holds up well to being spread all the way open to write in it. The pages are thick enough to handle a pen without bleeding through. This is the second book of this series that we have purchased, and both are nice quality. I like that this one has a hard cover but the kids version has a thick soft cover, so it can stand up to a beating, but my mom journal looks very classy and nice. It is small enough to fit in my purse easily, but too large for a standard ladies pants pocket (so it is larger than a pack of tic tacs). It would fit in a cargo pants pocket. This is the sort of book that I would buy, and then never remember to fill out. However, I got the Q&A a Day for Kids for my daughter as a fun summer journaling activity for a kid who hates journaling but wants to be a better writer. She loves her Q&A a Day book. I quickly realized that she is great at keeping up with it, so I bought this version to fill out while she is filling hers out. She was so excited to see that we have matching books. It increased her enthusiasm for journaling. Sometimes the questions in my book and hers compliment one another. It has been a really enjoyable little moment of our days together, and it sparks some fun conversations. Kiddo is looking forward to finishing her book so she can have it as a "safekeep" for years to come, and I am glad we have this daily ritual to keep us engaging with one another in a meaningful way during lockdown. I'm sad there is not a "for dads" version. Dad feels left out now.

Pretty book, great concept, wish it were physically larger
This is a great concept, and I enjoy these questions and the process of answering them. I wish that the book were a bit larger, however, because people with more than one child will want to include insights relating to all of their children. The space to write isn't very large, so it's hard to fit an answer that is longer than about one sentence, and all of the questions use the word "child" instead of "children." I suppose you could buy one of these for each child, but that seems a lot of work and money when many of the questions would be answered identically in each copy. I also wish there were a book of these for dads! My husband was so disappointed that there isn't one specifically for fathers. I recommend the "Q&A a Day for Kids" book also, though that one only spans three years, while this one spans five.

I really enjoy wring in it each day!
I was so excited to receive this, and I was not let down! It is beautiful! I love the small size too. The questions are great, it is something I can jot down pretty quickly each day. I know I’m going to love going back and reading this years down the road! As for the negatives- the sticker on the back is huge and was annoying to pull off because it took a few bits of the cover with it but nothing major. Also I wish it didn’t assume you only have one child. Lastly, even though I love the size of the journal, I do wish I had a bit more room to write each day (probably due to the fact that I have three kids I’m writing about lol). Overall I am so happy I bought this, and I’m planning on buying more to give as gifts.

One of my favorite Amazon purchases of all time!
I absolutely love this little journal and it's by far one of my favorite Amazon purchases of all time! There's a really good variety of questions and they are all very quick to answer. It's never something I sigh at doing or feel like it's "just another thing to check off my to-do list." I genuinely look forward to writing in this every day and seeing what the question of the day is. I can't wait to see how my responses change over a 5 year period. And when my son is old enough, I plan on giving him this as a sweet keepsake.

A great keepsake for mom and child.
I, as many others, am a busy working mom. I also, however, think that it's extremely important to have many different keepsakes for my children. I try to journal and write down all the funny sayings, milestones, weights and heights, etc. Sometimes, it's still so easy to forget to document the everyday, the mundane, the little things that I know I'm going to miss. My mother passed away when I was young, and I wish she had written in a journal like this. It would give me a little insight into the woman that she was (Entries like: "I'll be honest, _______ drives me crazy, What's one piece of parenting advice you absolutely do not believe in? Has motherhood made you stronger or more vulnerable? Tickle your child and write about it here. What do you envy about your child? Describe your parenting style in five words"). This little journal helps me to document the big and small moments. Is it small? Yes. I do wish it were a tad bigger, not like a full sized notebook, but somewhere in between. I write small, but still sometimes wish for a little more space. Is the full length sticker on the back terribly hideous? YES. I mean come on, the book is so adorable, until you flip it over and there it is. A huge sticker covering the entire backside. Despite the two cons above, I still love this book. I originally purchased it as a baby shower gift, but started writing in it that day, and immediately ordered another. I have now purchased three.

Never regretted buying it ❤️
It might look a lot smaller than I expected but still it helps me reflect on my precious life as a mom ❤️
