Decent foam and quality, but screws I feel are too short.
Update:After 4 months of use, they both broke.. My opinion is, they do not hold up to the cold very well, because, I never had any problems until I started spending a bit of time outside, in the cold. Temperatures were down into the teens (Fahrenheit). My final opinion.. I recommend them for the price, if you are going to use them where it is fairly warm.. But they are not good for use in sub freezing temperatures. Also, the covering to them held up very well. I never had any tears in the outside material / covering to them.Original Review:I got mine from "monster scooter parts". Being paralyzed, I have used a lot of different brands of these over the years. This is my opinion based on that, and after using them for 4 days to break them in, and see how they will hold up.The padding in these is decent, but not great. Compared to the original Quickie 2 wheel chair pads, these are a little shorter in height, 1/8" or 3/16" shorter than the originals, but are also about 3/16" wider too. More surface area, but less height. I personally like the little extra height better. The length is just shy of 10" as advertised. OEM ones are about 1/4" longer, so that is pretty close. The quality of the padding is mid level. I would probably give it a 6 out of 10. In comparison, the ones that I got from the aftermarket group I would give maybe a 2, so 6 is pretty decent. It is much more durable then the really cheap ones, but, is not as good as the high end ones. The plastic in the base is mid quality. Not as good as the better ones, but much better then the cheap ones. 6 out of 10 here too. One thing I liked about these is, that they have brass inserts for attaching them. If they are a yellowish orange in color, then they are brass. If they have a whitish chrome color, then they are steel. I prefer the brass because it does not rust if it gets wet. This makes a really big difference when you have to change them. They need a little longer screws. The ones that I got are make with an end that is funnel shaped on the bottom (like a drywall screw), about 1/16" shorter than most. The original screws were flat on the bottom of them. I find that this flat type seems to hold better, and come loose less often, vs the drywall type of bottom. The length in the ones that they give, are shorter then what came with the 4 other brands that I gotten, so there was plenty to compare to. My opinion is that they are not long enough to secure it in place good, due to the lack of connecting threads. I used different screws because I did not like them (too short, and wrong type of design). If your old screws are in good condition, I recommend using them as I did. I took a few pictures to show the lack of threading that will hold it in place.Overall, I think that they are pretty good for the price. They may not be as good as factory, but, with OEM being about $32 a pair, they are also about half the price too. If you are looking for a decent set of pads, without paying a lot, I do recommend these. They are only about a dollar more then the cheap ones too, but are made much better. When I need new ones, I would buy them again. If you are looking for new ones, one brand I recommend staying away from is, ones from "the aftermarket group". I have used them many times before, and they do not hold up well for me. The foam flattens fast, is cheap, the plastic in theirs breaks in a short time, and, they use the steel inserts for the screws. This is just from my experience through.A good way to tell if they have good or bad padding in them.. or if it will hold up. If the padding has a rounded look to it, from side to side, and end to end, it uses cheap foam that will not last. If the top of the pad is flat looking, like these, they tend to have a better and more durable foam in them. At least, this has been my experience so far.One last comment.. I would like to note that the quickie 2 wheel chairs are a 2,000 dollar chair. It is a light weight, but very durable chair, so, you would expect higher quality parts on it vs cheap chairs. For that reason, if you have a 200 dollar chair, then these pads may be as good, or even better then the factory ones. Just take this into account when thinking about my review. This would also explain why some people can say that these are better then factory ones. Each brand / company uses different quality of parts.
