GREENGUARD GOLD = SAFE
FIRST please read this:100% Polyurethane Foam Has been banned in it’s pre-regulated form since 2004, and has not been used in these graco mattresses. There’s a review here for this mattress that is scaring parents off and claiming it’s made of the 100% Polyurethane Foam that constantly offgasses toxic chemicals. The same person states that she did tons of research but I have to assume she just googled “ 100% Polyurethane Foam” and freaked out. While this mattress is made from Polyurethane Foam, it has been GREENGUARD GOLD certified, which means it has been approved by several of the most reputable agencies in the world for an acceptable amount of offgassing. What this means, is that in an indoor environment where there is little to no ventilation, this mattress offgases an extremely low level of chemicals, low enough that it does not cause abnormalities or expose any safety risks to your little one. If you research 100% Polyurethane Foam, there are some scary facts about it, but if you also research what it means that a mattress is GREENGUARD CERTIFIED, there is extensive tests done to make sure It is safe. This mattress is not only GREENGUARD certified, it is GREENGUARD GOLD certified which makes it even higher up in the list for safe, low emission foam mattresses. Please do your own research on BOTH 100% Polyurethane Foam, and the GREENGUARD GOLD CERTIFICATION requirements before some Random person on the Internet convinces you that something is not safe when there have been amazing scientists and children’s health advocates researching and improving materials for over a decade specifically to ensure the safety of our children. Now, if you wanna know about the mattress itself:The one I received took a full FOUR AND A HALF DAYS To fully inflate for us, for about a day and a half or so I was totally convinced that I was going to be one of those unlucky people who got one that just wouldn’t inflate all the way no matter what I did. But, it did eventually fluff up to the full stated height/width/thickness. I did not notice a weird smell once fully fluffed up nor when we first opened it. I guess my best piece of advice is just to be patient with it, even if it takes longer than the 48-72hrs. It fit in my daughters crib absolutely snug, the literal perfect size. Sheets fit great, and she has been sleeping on it great. She is a wiggler in her sleep and will often go from sleeping on her back, to her tummy, side to side. She seems to be very comfortable in this mattress, and will switch positions without waking up in discomfort. It’s great for her and firm enough that I would be confident using it for a newborn.

Won't sink. No smell, isn't hot, no noise. Like a normal adult matress quality.
The media could not be loaded. This review is written 1year and about a half now, I bought this for my baby's crib (as an example for everyone, my crib is a storkcraft hillcrest convertible crib to twin size bed) the mattress fit PERFECTLY! AND IT STILL HOLDS ITS THICKNESS! heck I'm almost 190 lbs and I get in the crib with my 1 yr old 26lb baby to make her sleep because, THERE IS NO OTHER WAY! I need to crawl out every single night. And let me tell you it is COMFORTABLE! so much that even though I'm so damn squeezed in there by my height I still fall asleep in the crib with her, no problem because it's as if it were my bed, no mold, came clean, it's not HOT or makes you sweaty, I'm literally writing this laying on this mattress right now. No noise, durable, just. Quality! Would buy this again if I needed to. But feel this will last for another baby, no smell no sinking, just do buy the mattress protector, helps a bunch.

THIS IS FOR A DOG BED!
I got tired of buying dog beds that are pricey and fall apart in a matter of months. So I got the idea to use a crib mattress instead. I looked them all over and settled on this one. It checked all the boxes, price point, water resistant and only 5 inches thick, so I ordered it.I didn't have any of the problems others have stated. Mine fluffed up all on it's own in about 10 minutes. I also had it out of the cover and the sides were not melted. It was perfectly cut and has rows of air holes all the way through it, just a few inches apart. It also has an encasement under the cover that appears to be woven material like fiberglass. I don't know what it's made of, but I am sure that it's what gives the mattress it's flame retardant protection. The mattress cover itself is a nice enough fabric with an inner plastic like backing, but it isn't crackly. And the zipper is good quality and works smoothly. All in all it's a good mattress for the price. Moving on...I needed something to use for a cover for it, and didn't want the standard cotton crib sheets in colors and prints for babies. So I searched crib sheets looking for something better suited to dogs and found the perfect sheets. It says they are flannel but they are not. They're a thick, plush velour fabric. So for a cover I ordered the BlueSnail Super Soft Stretchy Fitted Flannel Crib Bed Sheet for Standard Crib and Toddler Mattress (Brown)I also ordered the Biloban waterproof crib mattress encasement (full enclosure with zipper), to protect the mattress from accidents, like vomit. With that and the sheets I can keep the mattress clean and fresh with a simple sheet/encasement change. My 2 dogs love the bed, so I planned to order another one, now that I know what I'm getting. The second mattress is on the way now, since one dog got injured and has to be kept crated for healing. I have an extra large Pet Lodge crate, but it needed a cushion in it. So I took some measurements and found the crib mattress is the perfect width, just 5 1/2 inches too long. So I took the cover off, and cut the end of the flame retardant fabric open at the end, since it was a little longer than the mattress and stretches. Underneath that is a thin fabric that covers the foam. I cut it across the top of one end, 6 inches from the end of the foam, so it's like a cap over the end (like a flip top cigarette box). I peeled it back about a foot, and and used a straight edge on it to cut almost all the way through the foam with a very sharp knife, about 1/8 inch from being cut all the way through. I then folded that piece back on top of the mattress for a bolster pillow. I taped it in place with duct tape, then pulled the thin fabric back over it and taped it shut on the bottom. Then I did the same with the flame retardant fabric, taping it across the end, and put the cover back on. I did the bolster so the covers wouldn't be too big and hang 5 inches off the end of the foam. Since I left that extra foam folded back on top of it, it filled the covers with no excess hanging off. I just didn't put the encasement back on, because of the orientation of the zipper on it, I wouldn't have been able to get it on. So instead I cut a piece of an old 1 inch thick memory foam mattress topper to fit over the mattress, from the top of the foot end, all the way over the bolster end and to the bottom of it. Then I put the sheet on and put it in the crate. It fits end to end and side to side. So I had to take the back end off the crate to slide it in, since the door isn't that wide. But it's all done and nearly perfect. Poor Jilly Bean has a long recovery ahead for a ruptured Achilles tendon. When the new one comes, I will put the encasement on it, along with the other sheet. I'll also be ordering a couple more sheets now so I have a spare for each mattress.

Great firmness
I have purchased this mattress 3 times now for 3 different kids and it hasn’t let me down. It’s soft but firm and all my kids love them. The zipper did start to fall apart on one of them after 3 years but it’s not that bad.
