100% works with CDA-9886!
This 100% works with the Alpine CDA-9886! Plug it into the back of the headunit in the AI port, get the RCA to 3.5mm aux cord adapter, make sure to turn AUX ON in your settings, switch inputs to AUX, and enjoy your music! Sounds just as good as Bluetooth, if not better. No noticable static for me. Highly recommend this product! Best way to get your old alpine to play with newer equipment.

Did the job! made my ancient Alpine radio bluetooth ready
Using this with a bluetooth adapter, it made my old radio capable of streaming from my phone! This added the RCA outputs and the (separately purchased) bluetooth adapter worked well to add bluetooth to my radio.

This is the best way to add an aux to your older radio
If you're trying to add an aux cord to your older alpine radio,THIS IS YOUR BEST OPTION. Coupled with a basic coax to Aux plug cable it works perfectly..dont waste your time with the other one piece conversion cables,do it right the first time..its like $4 more to do it this way, and you won't have any issues that the cheap one piece cables have.

Works
Works as expected. Quality isn’t Alpine, but has worked flawlessly for many months.

It really works
Firstly I’d like to say, I almost came here to say it didn’t work. I just bought a car with an old Alpine CDA-9886 head unit. I was going to change out the head unit for a Bluetooth one but decided to do some research first. I ended up finding this adapter that plugs into the back of my head unit. I plugged everything in and went to AUX to see if it would work, it did not. Little did I know I had to go into the settings to change another AUX setting to “On”. Voila, it worked! Saves me money from having to buy another head unit.

Easy to connect iphone to old Porsche radio
Very easy install in 1993 Porsche 968. Pull out, plug in, done. I use the dongle to connect to iPhone XS. Works perfectly!

Garbage
Don’t waste your time on this, plugged it up and all I got was static. My music played but with a loud static buzzing noise and yes I checked all connections for all my speakers and even tried grounding it to the frame and still sounded bad. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS!!!
