But I was pleasantly surprised by this alternate ending. I also loved how the original story was alluded to even if vaguely. I just thought this story gave a better lesson than the original in what it takes to get your happy ending. Review: easy read, truly enjoyable - A twist to the normal fairytale. This is a very easy read and very enjoyable. This was my 1st book of the series

a beautiful twist
It gives some real honesty to a magical tale as well treating villains accordingly.i love how it twists it enough where live is true and honest and not just the love at first sight line.

A Really Great Take on a Classic Tale
I was excited to read this story by Elizabeth Lim that delves into the story of Cinderella and changes the story based on the fact that she did not get to try on the glass slipper when the Duke came to her household. While not as good as my favorite of the Twisted Tales, "Reflection", also by Lim, this was an enjoyable read. Snow White, Cinderella, and Aurora for me have always been very one dimensional princesses, as the first three who came in the 40's and 50's, where women were expected to be nothing else save pretty. Both the takes on Snow White (Jen Calonita's "Mirror Mirror") and Aurora (Liz Braswell's "Once Upon A Dream") took both of these princesses in more of a warrior direction. I am glad Lim did not do the same with Cinderella, and made her a different kind of hero. I am looking forward to her next Twisted Tale outing.

Loved!
This was yet another great twist on a classic. I was worried I wouldn't enjoy it as much as the last one because I had loved that one so much but yet again I was hooked. I can't get enough of these books. On to the next!!

Fabulous Read
Cinderella is my favorite early Disney story so it took a bit for me to decide to read this book thinking that Cinderella would end up being sold or worse being her stepmother and stepsister servant forever. I might love this story a bit more than the original, the Prince recognized Cinderella even in servants clothing. He believed in love, he believed they were meant to be. Great rewrite, great story, great book. I just wish the stepmother and sisters ended up being servants like in the film with Drew Barrymore, Ever After, that would have been great!

A Thoughtful Retelling of a Classic Tale
I have always enjoyed the story of Cinderella, be it how every human does a believable part or how the magic isn't all overpowering (not to mention the Disney music). I appreciate this version the most however because it very poignantly points out that a "happily ever after" ending is not without some serious work on the couples part. I think the original story tellers didn't indicate all the work in that last step not only because the story they wanted to tell was over but because they hoped to instil in their readers that the events in their story taught their characters how to fight for their relationship.

Being a tremendous Disney Cinderella fan, I had high hopes for this book. I was not disappointed! Initially I did not know what to expect from this book. The Prince was named Charles, which is most assuredly NOT his name in the animated Disney film, so I was unsure if this bode well for the rest of the story and if I would like the twists to come. Quickly after this minor slight to the original story, I was happy to see the beginnings of the book aligned true to the original story, including word-for-word dialogue. When the twists began, I was hooked and thoroughly enjoyed the story. Can’t wait to pick up another Twisted Tale!
