DAXKocatah For Scalp, 7.5 Ounce

As soon as it arrived I couldn’t wait to open and smell it to see if it was what I was looking for! Baybeeee! Let the good times Gro! When I was a kid grandma put this in my hair after playing in the sand I got some bald spots. It grew my hair fast. Now that am older my hair is thinning and I knew exactly what to search for.

I got this because I remember my mom using on my hair and it helped it grow and be thick. I’m trying to get my two-year-old daughters hair to grow thicker in some areas and the scalp to be over all more moisturized and treat some scalp issues. It smells just like I remember which is not that great but it doesn’t smell awful. Perhaps putting it on at night and then go on about your business in the morning the smell should not be as prominent. The first jar I got of this came in a box that had been opened and then retaped with clear tape, the box had grease all over it and so did the jar. There was a large dip in the product. I contacted customer service and they sent me a new jar at no cost and 2 day shipping. Everything was brand new no mess.UPDATE:This has worked wonders on my daughters hair. She has some condition where she gets scabs on her scalp. I thought greasing her scalp more would moisturize it but the oils and grease I tried before this made no difference or made it worse. This is working great on her scalp. I apply it every other day or 2 days and it keeps the scalp moisturized and scab free. I haven’t had any issue with build up either and it goes on very light. I am so pleased with this product.

LISTEN, i just did a big chop 3 weeks ago because my hair was damaged after I put box braids in on wet hair ( i had no idea that was a bad thing to do) and because my hair is sensitive and prone to breakage in general, I had no choice but to cut all the stringy hair off. I used this on my hair after the big chop and my hairline as well as the hair around my crown that thinned poorly are already completely full and thick again! I have a mixture of 3C and 4A hair my curls are so moisturized and fluffy again like before the damage.The smell is surprising but honestly if you use this grease with other hair products (which I do, especially gel for wash n go) the smell isn't noticeable at all. A little goes a long way <3

This product has tar in it which is what I have been looking for, it is the only thing that helps my daughter's dry scalp. I love that it doesn't make the head too greasy and that it takes care of her dry scalp!

Always works great for the past 20 years on this African's thick and often grease thirsty hair. But the packaging from the seller was literally painful. It took me over 20 minutes to open the bo after using 3 knives when a razor failed. I hate using knives because you can accidentally damage the contents inside. Now I am in pain for struggling just to open the box. I was not be ordering this from a 3rd party again only amazon prime or just my local beauty supply

What do I have to admit to, you may wonder? My mother swore by this product and I hated this product because of the smell and the color. I swore when I got older, that I was going to use products like Posner or TCB like my younger sister, her hair wasn't as coarse as mines.Well I tried and they didn't work on my hair, still determine not to use Kocatah I started using BB Hair Food and it worked for a couple of years. Then I moved to the West Coast and my hair changed with the different and BB Hair Food stopped working and I tried many hair grease and pompades that other African Americans were using. It didn't work on my hair, I even tried Vaseline.Well I contacted family members and friends to ship me a case of the dreaded DAX KOCATAH DRY SCALP Relief product along with BB Hair Food. Which is not sold in the town or the surrounding towns.So I must admit MOTHER WAS RIGHT AND MY HAIR STRAIGHT AND SHINY AND GROWING. So thank you mom and Dax

This grease made my 6 yr old nauseous and gave her stomach pains. I washed her hair and greased her hair with this. As I'm braiding her hair. She began getting nauseous and said she was getting sleepy. Then she started saying her stomach was hurting. I'm like ok. What did u eat. She told me. But that's what she always eats without issues. So I'm like maybe u picked up a virus from school. So I continued to braid her hair. I told her I would be done soon and that she cud rest. Well it got so bad I had to give her Zofran. Which I have on hand. She Said her mouth was beginning to get watery. So I said to myself , let me go read the negative reviews to see if this grease made anyone sick. Because she was fine b4 I greased her hair. And yes there were others. So I took her to bathroom and washed this grease out. I washed several times, vinegar rinse then conditioner with the braids still in. Cause it was bad on her. Then I pat dried her hair. And greased her hair with vaseline . I asked her to tell me if she starts to feel better. And yes 30 minutes later she said mommy I feel better. No nauseous, no stomach pain, no sleepy feeling. Omg. She perked back up to her old energetic self. I was blown away cause I have used tar grease in my hair b4 and didn't get this results. But I never bought it offline from this company. I always bought regular tar grease from our local beauty supply store. I won't be purchasing this product again from this company. I'm glad I didn't use it in my 18 month old head. Tar grease grows hair fast. I'm a witness cause it does my hair like this but just be careful of where you purchase your products from.

I grew up having my hair greased with Dax, made me smile when J decided to look for it here and found it. Smells like my childhood lol. It's not too heavy, actually it's very light and not too greasy if you get what I mean. I even mix some of hair oils in it and itcarried them pretty well.

Someone left this at my house and due to running out of my own product I used this because I was desperate after washing my daughters hair !! And yes it stinks at first but this is more of a hair treatment for people with dry scalp and dry hair !! And For long time use !! It's been 3 years and I've never looked back my daughters hair is growing beautifully and she was surfing with dry hair no matter what I did even every 2 week treatments at the hairdresser!! But this has finally been able manage her hair with no more drying issues or breakage her hair looks silk pressed and we have not used a hair dryer in 3 years !! This is for Afro hair so be mindful of that part!! But for me 10/10 every time !!! Works best after a wash put some in a twist let it dry naturally!! Then wrap hair with hair wrap onces twist are out The softnes and bounce is everything this is all we use in my house I mix a drop with 100% aloe for edges . Thanks so much for getting this to me in the middle of the lockdown lol we are truly thankful p.s we kinda like the smell now it's not so bad loool x

I’ve used dax grease on my Afro hair since I was a childHowever I started to use this particular Dax grease because I started to develop very itchy dry scalpUsing this product and washing my hair with H&S weekly has helped keep the issues under controlThis dax grease product does have a strong smell however it does fade so don’t worry you won’t be smelling of tar all dayI highly recommend this product

It’s small but it helped my hair grow almost twice as fast. I bought a larger one (pictured) but seems fake so hoping this one remains the same/ genuine.I used this every 2-3 nights & sometimes irregularly so super surprised by how quickly it grew my hair (4a, 4b). It took 1 week to get new growth that I would normally see around 2 weeks.I’d recommend using it before bed because it does smell bad. Also, the oil melts after applying so you don’t need to use a lot.

Used to use this years ago wish I had not stopped my hair would be down to my bottom now but as I live in the north of England it's hard getting the basis black hair care products this stuff costs more in shipping than to buy but worth it the down side is the smell of it yucky but once on the scalp fades quick helps if you use a coconut oil milk lotion with it, the up side even with dyeing my hair no breakage and my hair is growing very fast

This product is great for dry scalp but if you’re looking for a pleasant smell, it’s not the best product for you. The good thing is that the smell does not last for days. Just on the first day it’s used. So I have given 4 stars.
