Not bad, happy I got it
I bought this knife because I've never had a fixed blade before (I've always carried folding blades) and wanted a solid boot knife. For the price, and because I found mostly positive reviews, I decided to go ahead and pick this one up.First, the pros:-The blade came nice and sharp in the box, although I have seen a few reviews state theirs needed sharpening. Luck of the draw I suppose.- The sheath feels very sturdy, and the belt/boot clip is very tight, so I doubt I'll ever have issues with it slipping out of my boot on accident.-While it did take about a week to get broken in, the knife and its sheath feel very comfortable in my boot, to the extent that I sometimes forget I'm wearing it.-The knife has a solid feel in my hand, and I doubt the grip will ever slip unless I'm trying to cut through something very tough. Now the cons:-When I received the knife, the top screw on the grip was (and still is) a little loose. Plus, it's a small star style screw, the screwdriver for which neither I nor my friends have, so I suppose it will stay that way for awhile. Right now it isn't too much of an issue, but I'm concerned it will get worse over time.-The sheath, while good quality, is leather, meaning it will dull the blade over time. I've only had the knife about three weeks, and I can already tell a slight dulling due to this (maybe 10%).-While the grip is solid, it feels a little plastic-y, and I'm not sure if it will crack or break over time. It's not a major concern, but something which caught my attention.-The serrations on the blade are filed flat on the back, and the black color goes right to the edge. Not a big issue, but it means that the blade only has that nice silver edging on the front, and looks a little less slick on the back (something which really surprised me when I first opened the box).-While this isn't exactly a con, one thing which surprised me was that the color selected (blue, green, or tan) completely surrounds the grip. Based on the pictures I had assumed that the color was just a highlight around the lettering/edges of the grip, but in reality the whole side of the grip (except for a black line down the center where the two halves meet) is that color. Not a major issue, but another thing I wasn't expecting/could do without.-Finally, the only drawback I've had with this knife is that it's got a very long blade. I didn't realize it when I bought the knife, but the blade is 4 3/4". While this makes it useful for serious cutting jobs, and makes it look damn cool/intimidating, it's over the legal carry limit (4" in my state, not sure how the law varies across the US, if at all). This means I have to be very careful when and where I carry it. While I don't think I'd have much of an issue if a cop found it while I', out somewhere casual such as a restaurant or at a park, I have to be mindful that I leave it at home when I go somewhere where it could get me in trouble, such as downtown with friends or to my campus.Overall, I would say that this is a really good knife, despite the drawbacks, and I'm happy I decided to get it. If you're looking for a sturdy boot knife with lots of cutting/sawing power, and which will hold a nice edge, this is a good choice. For the money, I really can't beat it.

Pretty Good (so far)
First off the coloring with my knife is different than the one in the picture. Mine has more tan on the side of the handle and the blade isn't that black.Sheath: Now on to more important things. The leather sheath is actually acceptable. It looks like it will last a little while which is good since this was made in China. It fit right in my army boot with a 2 and a half inch metal clip built into the leather. The Sheath also has a nice snap button that holds the knife in the sheath. Like I said, so far so good. Possible drawbacks for the sheath may include durability issues with heavy use. Overall sheath: B+. Could have been higher if it was better quality, but c'mon, this is a value knife. You pay for what you get.Blade: The actual blade came decently sharp (You probably want to sharpen it to your preference as I have). The serrated edge is what you would expect. It comes @440C Stainless steel. Info on the steel: It sharps easier than say Carbon steel but does not hold its edge like Carbon steel. It requires regular maintainenance sharpening due to this. It resists corrosion and rust (great in certain environments e.g. high humidity, wet climates). Basically, if you are going camping, bring a sharpener.Handle: The handle is heavier than the blade, so if that is in your major criteria, go look elsewhere. Mine has not gone through heavy use yet, so I can't tell you for certain whether this handle is super durable. It does appear though that it should last for the price of the knife, good trade off.Overall knife: Comes in at 9 1/8th inches from blade tip to handle. The blade is 5 inches. Will need maintenance (sharpening) but would be a nice addition to your collection and every decent knife has good use. I am not a knife expert, I just do a little bit of research. If you already have a big collection, this is not needed. If you are starting one out, or need one this size, I would reccomend it.

Jagged Dagger Gizzard Hazzard
The Mtech MX-8059 dagger is impressive, with a full tang blade, with double sided serrations and even a thein blood groove. The blade is an 1/8" thick, and has a guard that is precision cut to fit the handle. The serrations are easy to sharpen, and the blade can be finely sharpened. The blade has a partial black coating, which can be removed and blued, or blue it and leave the coating in place. The handle has a lanyard hole for some parachute cord. The knife actually fits the hand quite well, not very heavy, but not as light as a Mora, but it is full tang. Great as a cost effective boot or hunting knife, The sheath works when applied to the right hip. But it is ineffective when attempting to hang on a molle vest. The thumb release becomes reversed, and the metal belt clip does not allow for reliable molle mounting with the blade facing upward. A new plastic sheath with a molle point attachment would do this knife well. The dagger blade with serrations would give a gerber a run for its money, now that most of them are made in china, or who knows where they are assembled. But the 8059 is another fixed blade Mtech that is useful and sturdy for the price. These serrations are real, unlike the useless jagged unsharpened ridges on many fixed blade Mtechs, that will only get caught on the tendons and ribs upon extraction from the torso of a deer or wild boar. This is another good knife for the plate carrier or the truck. Will have to see if a moreso adaptable molle sheath will fit this jagged dagger.

Excelente cuchillo
