Simple and great for my DIY collection of ebooks:)
This book provided me with the basic information I needed to get started. I have many ingredients like coconut oil and tea tree oil at home, and now I can start experimenting with my own soaps. I think I am gonna make my first batch this weekend.Short, sweet and informational. Simple and great for my DIY collection of ebooks.

Not for beginers.
This book loses 1 star just by not having a hyper linked table of contents. You have to page through the book to get to the recipe that you want. The author makes a good sell on just why commercial soaps are harmful to you and the environment. Then she completely misses explaining the benefits of various ingredients such as teatree oil (antiviral, antibiotic and antifungal). I know that different oils have different benefits from other books about natural cosmetics. Sarah Brooks doesn't mention any of them. Some of the terms she uses in recipes are never explained "Stir continuously until you get medium trace." ???? But, she explains how to zero out a scale just about every time something gets measured. She also tells you to prepare your mold by lining it with freezer paper. This step is mentioned in the section on necessary equipment, and is never explained again. She never mentions what preparation would be needed if you wanted to use an mold for individual bars of soap instead of cutting apart a slab.

I wouldn't recommend buying this
It's a quick basic book with several soap recipes, however they all require sodium hydroxide lye ... As I've never made soap before, and do not know if that is an ingredient needed to make soap... Was hoping to find recipes that don't require lye... If you are looking for lye free soap recipes, I wouldn't recommend buying this book

Okay
This is a good little booklet for beginning soap makers just like it says. I probably did expect a little heftier volumn than I could have downloaded free on Kindle but it is nice to have something easy like this in hardcopy

Easy to follow
This book is wonderful. The only issue or question I have is whether to use full strength liquid castile soap or diluted. It has step by step directions which are easy to read and follow. I have not made soap yet but plan to soon. I can't wait to try some of the recipes.

Good soap making book.
I like to use soap to wash my body when showering. I usually think about how to making soaps myself, until I found this book, I can really make it come true. It is easy just to take the step-by-step directions. Now, I can use any one soap I like to make to enjoy taking a shower.

Interesting subject
I like the idea of making my own soap, I would have liked it better if the book included where to get ingredients.

Need a revision
This book contains serious mistakes in recipes, like strange proportions of ingredients, ingredients without quantity, and text with poorly explanation. It needs a carefull revision by the author.
