SpydercoDelica 4 Lightweight 7.15" Signature Knife with 2.90" Saber-Ground Steel Blade and FRN Handle

Great EDC knife. I carried the original version for 35 years until I lost it in a theater. This 4th generation is much improved. The metal clip holds it more securely it in my pocket. The black finish on the blade is a nice touch. I was pleasantly surprised that it is made in Japan. It is a high quality piece.

I received this knife and was very pleased . It arrived razor sharp out of the box . It feels great just holding it and i found myself not wanting to put it down . I love the spydie hole for one handed opening . The reviews on the vg-10 steel have all been great and so far the edge has held up well . An awesome knife . Blame Sal for making such great products . Now on with the review . The Delica legacy has been around for a while now (now on version 4 ) and their is a reason . These are fantastic knives well worth the money. My Delica is a saber grind that was , as usual, razor sharp out of the box . I've had this knife for a couple of months now and I use it for e.d.c rotating out with a Byrd meadowlark . Have I sharpened it in this time , yes I have . Did it need it, not really , but I like sharpening my knives . There is nothing I can find to say negative about this knife . So if you expect this to be a Spyderco bashing ,It's not gonna happen . I think this is the perfect knife to start with for anyone wanting to try a Spyderco .The VG-10 steel is an awesome steel that will, not only hold an edge , it will get extremely sharp with the right patience and a light touch . I re-profiled mine to my lanski which varied the30° bevel ,that most Spyderco's are, slightly smaller and it is very ,very sharp. I usually finish up with a light stropping on the leather . The knife holds up to everything I do as a maintenance man on a daily basis and begs for more . Those of you who have not held a Spyderco , all I can tell you is it's very addictive . It fits in your hand and just feels right , I find myself reaching over and opening and closing it for no reason all the time. It really annoys the wife . The finish on this knife is superb . the blade is dead center with no side slack. The lock is solid and very smooth . And if you haven't used a Spydie hole , let me tell you it is a very smooth deployment of the blade . Way better than thumb pegs . The FRN (Fiberglass Reinforced Nylon) handle is very comfortable and offers a secure , non-slipping grip . The jimping on the spine of the knife is just enough not to slip , but not enough to hang on your pocket . I personally don't like a jimping thats to aggressive and this one is not . The clip can be installed tip-up ,tip-down , left or right hand . I just can't find anything that I see that needs changing . If your undecided about buying a Spyderco knife , then spend 50 bucks on this one. You won't be disappointed P.S. And like I said , When you find yourself with Syderco knives laying around you everywhere , It's SAL's fault !!!

This is my first Spyderco product. I ordered the Delica 4 and I'm very pleased with it's feel, and fit and finish. I purchased the saber grind model with the black frn. The only thing I was concerned about before receiving the knife was how the frn would feel, and I'll tell you I'm impressed with the grip and feel of it, it feels high end.

Hello!I loved the Knife and All about it, almost... I bought the knife last October and since then I carry in my pocket once in a while since I have other once too.I cant tell enough how much I loved my knife just one problem I had that every time i want to pull out something from my pocket( phone ,keys or some) the knife was ready to jump out too ,several times I almost gonna loose it but pushed back on time)),This time two days ago finally its gone ,when I came home to empty my pockets I saw that My Beautiful knife is gone very quietly fell from my pocket ,,well ..who found it will be happy its almost like Brand new.Why I am writing this review because even I live it I dont think I will buy it again but will get something else .I love my Kershaw and more.I want to say that the problem that I lost my Knife that easy because the Grip is too slicky and its not very tight and the paint is very smooth and it always was sliding up from my pants pocket ,Jeans or other pants ,The Grip design is very straight and easy to loose )).Sorry Spyderco but thats TRUE.I am Very careful Guy specially with Quality Things ,But its gotta be other way of designing this Grips its too slicky to Hold in your Pocket or on Bag or anything.Thanks to all it was just my opinion and experience with this knife,Peace!

What can I say? It's a Spyderco. It came sharp, opens smooth, has decent weight to it and it's a small enough size for EDC but big enough to be impressive to others. This is my first Spyderco but not my first well-known brand pocket knife. My other go-to is a Benchmade Mini Griptilian which definitely gives this thing a run for it's money – especially when comparing price and features. One thing I don't really like about the Delica 4 is the back lock but that is more a personal opinion than a good reason to deduct a star. I knew fully what I was getting when I bought this knife as I had done much research on a lot of Spyderco knives prior to buying.The iconic thumb hole is a great assist to open the knife and any knife enthusiast can tell it's a Spyderco when you whip it out. I like how you can customize it fairly easily with new scales and deep pocket clips (check eBay if you're considering it). I would highly suggest a deep pocket clip as the butt of the knife sits up above the edge of your pocket when carrying – although it does stay in your pocket very well; stock clip has good tension. The all black design with the half and half blade is very rugged looking and fits my personal style.This is a great starting knife for someone looking to get into collecting knives. I am considering getting my girlfriend one to keep in her car because it's small enough that a woman could carry it comfortably (in the car, purse, etc.); might be too big for some ladies but hey if you ever need it for protection it'll do the job. The next installment I am looking to get is most likely the Paramilitary 2, which is a typical step up from the Delica 4, or just go balls to the wall and get the high profile Domino flipper.Either way, Spyderco has done a great job in their development of knives and it sure has sparked that need to advance my collection.
