For the price, this is a great purchase. I just needed to adjust the first and second string action on my acoustic. The tools provided in this kit are great for attenuating and perfecting the best 'sound" an instrument can create. I found the nut slots to be too high cut, I filed them down and have a much better action as well as the 'tuning" now stays consistent from fret to fret. For beginners, it might be overwhelming, for those who understand sound and measures... and time... this 'kit" is like a doctor's bag for house calls. After using it to fix my acoustic, I now keep this one in the back of my guitar amp. I also keep extra strings in it... It is a nice bonus to have a zipper bag just for guitar emergencies velcro strapped right beside my reverb box. Great purchase at the price. After getting the kit, I would even say its worth more than the price. For me, this was priceless.

Not everything in this kit is useful, but it helped with some minor fret leveling. The fret rocker is super useful and so is the string winder if you don't have them. For the super low price and nice carrying pouch, this kit is totally worth it.

This is an amazing starter kit to get you going, but like any trade, the tools you start with are rarely the ones you end up still using a year or two later. You WILL want to upgrade as you go, but these will get you started and work just fine. After spending hours with this fret file I now know why good ones are more expensive than this entire kit and will be buying one soon, but it got the job done. So if this is your first build, weekend project, just starting out as a maintenance tech, this will get you going and down the line serve as backups in the bottom of the box. I recommend it for the price.

The tools in this kit are cheap, but you get almost everything you need. This is really where I have some gripes as I think some of this kit is great, but a lot of this I'll never use and I have over 20 years of experience with guitar/bass setup/repair. Ultimately, this will be the kit I take with me to gigs for "light" repairs on the road... as this will be my emergency kit, the hope is that I'll almost never use it.The Good:1. String winder is fine, same as any other cheap one - cool that it's compact all-in-one tool2. Hex keys are great - like the round end on the one side for those tricky to reach spots3. I really like the included case - great to keep everything together and take this with you to showsThe Bad:1. No feeler gauges for string height adjustment - this should be in EVERY kit2. No guide for the string action ruler3. Who buys a $30 kit and assumes they can accurately level frets? The fact that there's tools for this included baffles me. I guarantee that most people that try this end up making the problem worse and/or ultimately ruining their istrumentsThe Ugly:1. Durability - some of these will likely last (or be accurate) for about 10 uses and then I suspect that the performance will degrade quickly2. The files are VERY rough and pretty uneven. Since these would mostly be used for repair/shaping bone/brass pieces of the guitar, accuracy is paramount... I would not recommend anyone use these for adjusting nut slot height

Comes with good stuff, not the greatest quality but for the price it's good for messing around with my guitars.

The tool kit is super useful and works well. Durability is good but quality is lacking. Some items came in rusted.

Im usually a stewmac guy, but for most people the price point of their products aren’t ideal. This however, is a great little kit that has just about everything you need. I was able to do a little fret dressing and set up on a affinity strat I had, and was pretty comfortable with the tools. Not perfect tools, but they sure ain’t bad! they definitely deserve a spot in your gigging case, studio, etc.

It was the best “package” value that I have found. It’s a perfect set to work with.
