HT-CT80

I bought this sound bar so that I could play music via Bluetooth for parties and to be able to get more sound quality out of quiet conversations in movies and more boom from bass for action movies. I got a lot more then I was expecting, your not going to get house shaking bass but the bass is a satisfying enough to get a good amount of surround sound for a cheap price. My ex-roommate had a Bose sound bar that was $200 and this one sounded much better then that one. I love that I am able to control volume and Bluetooth for music via the remote that comes with it along with controls along the side of the sound bar. The only negative thing that came from this sound bar was the first one I had blew and stopped working but Amazon provided an easy return policy where I just selected what the problem was and they sent me a return code and a new one before I even returned the one that wasn't working. Which for a first time amazon buyer I was very happy about because I was worries about how the online return policy would work. I would recommend this sound bar to anyone because I think it Is a very good value for the price!

Good sound for a $98 sound bar. I think I have newer version because my speaker has 2 woofers and 2 dome tweeters. Original specs say only 2 full range drivers. Maybe the bad reviews were for the old version. Won’t get wall shaking bass from the subwoofer but it has deep clean lows with decent power for a medium size room. I keep the subwoofer volume one notch down from maximum. Only 2 inputs on this sound bar. I use the optical cable from my cable box and analog from the tv for Netflix. My tv has coax digital which I can’t use with this sound bar, but it has RCA analog outputs that I connected to the sound bar’s analog input with an adapter: 2 RCA male plugs to one 3.5mm miniplug. And Netflix sounds great! Sound level and quality are very decent and the Bluetooth feature is great. I think the sound is very crisp in clearaudio+ mode so I usually leave in that mode. This unit is well worth the price and has much better sound than my 46” tv.

NO BASS AT ALL! I have an alarm clock with better sound. I was buying it for the bluetooth so we could jam with the kids before school in the kitchen. Right now I have logitech computer speakers with a subwoofer but its not bluetooth. I thought a "home theater" set up would have way better sound, but the $30 logitech blows this "home theater" system away. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY IF YOU WANT ANY VOLUME OR BASS.

This is no high end speaker system. The audio is not super incredible, especially when compared to audiophile-level speakers, and the subwoofer makes a minimal difference. That being said however, for its price, its totally worth it. The audio is definitely better than anything tv speakers could create, and its minimal design makes it easy to fit into an existing setup. I just wish the controls were a little more intuitive (theres no volume meter and toggle features are sometimes hard to tell if they're on or off). For music streaming, over all, this speaker plays nicely, but dont expect anything of superb quality. For tv, its excelent. No question

I do not understand how these people have had such a bad experience with this sound bar set up. It comes with the digital optical cable, two AAA batteries for the remote, and was such a breeze to hook up. I didnt even have to un package the instructions!! I use this in my master bedroom on my 42" Samsung smart TV and this thing rocks!!! Movies, Xbox one, Netflix, Spotify... Everything sounds amazing and my neighbors are bound to hear this through my bathroom window hahaha hahahaha. Sony quality product right here! Deep lows and the woofer is 3-4 notches from the top, crisp highs on either clear audio+ or surround... I can't say enough good things about this sound bar and I haven't even mentioned the price!! You can't beat this set-up for the price hands down!!

A decent price, easy to hook up and sounds much better than the speakers in the TV. It has several modes including a handy 'night' mode that kills most bass so it won't disturb others. Too bad it needs another remote to run it. Amended; Eight days after I wrote the above review and 45 days after receiving the Sony HT-CT80, it quit. It is now dead - no lights no sound it doesn't respond to the remote or the buttons on the end of the unit. 45 days is past the Amazon return period so I'm going to have to work with the Sony one year warranty to get relief. Resolved? After contacting Sony I received a replacement soundbar. This was not an easy process - at one point I had an email that said I should return the unit for repair and a voicemail saying I should not return it. I eventually sorted it out and returned it for replacement. About ten days later a new one arrived. So far it's working fine, but this is more trouble than it should be.

I feel that most negative reviews are due to abnormal expectations for a sub 100$ setup. This soundbar will surpass any TV Speakers, no question about it. Think of it as what you expected your TV should initially sound like, and this is what you get; crisp audio, decent bass and enough features to make the pricetag acceptable. Don't buy this expecting a crazy theater experience, expect higher fidelity, a little more umph, a better viewing experience and a kick-ass feature added to your setup; Bluetooth connectivity! 100 bucks well spent! 5-Stars, all day son!

This is a mid-range sound bar system with a wired subwoofer. For what it is and the price this sound bar is gorgeous sounding. I have it in my bedroom and we wanted something that isn't crazy loud but can output clean crisp sound to go along with gaming and movies. This sound bar really delivers! The bass and sound are perfect and deliver superior quality sound for a perfect bang for the buck! Also this has bluetooth too, so you can stream stuff off your phone/tablet and turn your room into a mini nightclub! :)

It may not be the best sound bar. But for this price, the sound quality is impressive. I listen to FLAC lossless music and it doesn't disappoint both in bass and high frequencies.

first of all, i'd like to say that i'm a big fan of sony products. Every sony thing i've bought since the 90's lasts forever. This soundbar, seems well built, and sounds great. It looks cool, and does everything it claims to. I do have one nagging issue with it though, which another reviewer has already mentioned, which is it's auto-shutdown feature. I've heard that this feature might be mandated, under the "energy efficiency" effort, however, for me, it's a huge annoyance. It means every time i want to watch tv, i have to turn the tv and soundbar on, separately. Either with remote, or using the button on the side. AND if i take too long getting a snack... (more than 15 minutes) I have to turn it on again.... I hate this feature. alot. I'm not sure if there are soundbars that always STAY on. Or, if there are ones that turn on, with your television (perhaps using HDMI)... but if i was in the soundbar market again, i'd be looking for one of those instead.

Great sound; easy setup and, slim enough to blend in!

Ive had this speaker for just over a year, and for several months I have noticed the speaker crackles at almost any volume. It is a speaker issue since it also crackles with Bluetooth, not just aux.

Small enough for limited space I had, great sound. Only complaint is I find the remote connecting with unit, I have to find a specific position for it to work, holding up in the air.
