2TBs for a great price.
No issues. Others complain about the noise but I care about reliability and storage size. Many talked about receiving a 5400 RPM drive, loudness, with a low amount of CACHE and this is true; one should use this as a backup or additional storage.

I Haz Lotsa Happiez. (For those not in a silly mood as I am: This was much better than I was expecting, and I'm quite elated.)
I wound up with a Hitachi UltraStar 2TB 7200rpm w/32M Cache, and I'm happy as a pig in sh... um... mud, yeah. ;) I was expecting a 2TB 5400rpm 16M cache 'whoknowswhatbrand' drive, and was happy with that, since it was gonna be loaded up and locked away as an off-side backup... but I think I'll take my two 1TB WD Green drives and lock those up as backups, and use this as an every day usage, since it's faster, has more cache, and is meant for 24/7 usage, as the Greens really aren't... I might load up one with backups (1TB might be enough for the true backup/old stuff) and have the other internal for backup and just unplug it but leave it in in case I need access. I dunno, but I like the fact that I have more choices, and that I got a better drive than I was expecting. I'll order from them again in a heartbeat. Shipping was 2 days early, the price was freakin unbeatable, and I've had a cheesy grin on my face since I opened the package. It probably won't go away for a while, either. I love you, Amazon. *gigglesn0rtz*

(2019) Failed at 5 year mark in NAS - (2024) - 5900RPM Drive
(2019 Drives) I had ordered 2 of these drives for a NAS which is very disk-intensive and the drive gave me SMART failure messages at the nearly 5 year point (the other one is still running). I'm considering that a "win" given the no-name brand, price and heavy duty 24-7 operation. When the next one fails, I will consider replacing it with another one.(2024) I ordered another one hoping to get the same/similar drive, but instead I got a 5900 RPM drive instead of the specific 7200 RPM drive that I was looking for. I have since dropped my review down to 4 stars because this is highly deceptive. The drive is a Seagate Video 3.5 2TB Model #ST2000VM003. The good thing is that the drive DOES appear to be new (unless SMART data has been manipulated) and installed properly, passed short and long term drive tests as well as some data copying. The drive will not be in use until one of my 2 other NAS drives fail so that will likely be outside of return time but I'm hoping there will be no issues for it.At this point, I would not recommend it because the listing is no longer correct. You are NOT getting a white label drive like a Dell or no-name brand, but instead are getting whatever the seller wants to sell you. I could actually find this drive a few dollars cheaper looking for it directly and again, the reason I paid more was because of the 7200 RPM speed.Since the drive seems to work, I won't return it and go through that hassle but I'm not happy. If the seller contacts me and either a partial refund or send me a 7200 RPM drive, I'll add more details to this review but otherwise I no longer recommend this.

A lucky gamble
I got a Dell hard drive in the mail, 2TB with a 7200 rpm speed and was made in the first of March, 2014, so it really is a gamble on what you're buying here. The drive is working pretty well, a bit loud at seeking, silent at spinning but I got drives that are as loud as this one is. So really depends on your luck. If it doesn't go well, then you can always return it and get your money back.

Ugly, loud, distracting grinding sound shakes my entire computer case
Drive might have been just fine otherwise, but it vibrates so strongly that my entire case shakes like a rumble pad. It makes this awful grinding sound that varies from softest to loudest at regular 2-3 second intervals, and can be heard down the hall. When I plug in a different Seagate 3.5" 2TB 7200RPM drive I already own (alternate drive being roughly handled frequently and used to transfer large data between my home and office) the entire computer runs so quietly you have to put your ear against the case to hear anything, but when this drive is installed you can hear it outside the room and down the hall.Strangely enough still seems to store data and pass disk checks, but I'm not convinced it can continue to do so for long if something is that far out of balance inside of it.I've contacted Amazon support and they've refunded me, and I'm returning drive.
