I just received this order today and decided to use it right away. I have a four year old toy Yorkie and up until this year his tear stains have not been too bad so I would just clean them during his weekly bath, but this year his eyes started to build up reddish hard gunk and even with water they would not loosen up. So, I decided to look for a product to remove the hard eye boogers because I felt sorry for my boy. I researched several products and found that Angel Eyes had good reviews but soon found out that it contains an antibiotic which made me worried so I decided to look online a bit more and I came across Betta Bridges tear stain remover and decided to try it out and it works very well. I removed all the gunk from his eyes in a few minutes now all that is left is a red dye on his hair which will soon grow out and be trimmed. Even though this product is a bit pricey it is worth every penny AND there are no harmful chemicals which is a huge plus!

I have used 5 different products. Crystal Eyes, Angel Eyes, Some concoction of Peroxide and corn starch (RIDICULOUS), Visine, and Shazam. Nothing worked. I jumped on Amazon to see what the highest rated stuff is and this tear stain remover came up. I won't sit here and rave about it... I will show you the documented proof I have with the pictures. I have used it for 7 days straight. My dog does not freak out when I use it. By "freak out" I mean rubbing her face or sneezing constantly. It does not smell strong, (to me). It goes on clear and when it dries it gets pretty hard in her hair. I wet the hair back down with it before I attempt to comb it through. it washes out very easily. It definitely has worked for Me and Cricket. The picture on the left is the "Before" and the one on the right is the "After"

I must say, this definitely isn't a miracle but it's a very reasonable cleaner that doesn't seem to bother my dog's eyes. I have the hardest situation of an 8 lb pure white poodle who has big blinky eyes and probably doesn't have anything in the way of tear ducts. She constantly has drippage down the inner corners of her eyes and it can become prominently brownish red against her fur. I don't want to feed her antibiotics because of a cosmetic issue and I don't want to alter her food and water and give her some unexpected kidney or bowel problem. So I clean her eyes a lot. I've used plain water (didn't work well), regular dog shampoo applied to that area (too much work, too messy), Nutri-Vet eye rinse, dilute boric acid contact lens solution (same boric acid main ingredient as Nutri-Vet but a bit cheaper), and now this. I would say this out of all of them, the Nutri-Vet eye rinse probably was just slightly the best, and the contact lens solution and this worked well too. But what honestly makes the difference is that I clean and dry under her eyes two times every day morning and night. This is what keeps the stains very minimal. So what I would say about this product is that it works probably nearly as well as the Nutri-vet and probably as well as the cheaper contact lens solution, and all three of them work to get the area to look better after a few weeks of consistent effort, if you clean the area twice a day. Right now I'm using only this product twice daily and cleaning religiously and she really looks pretty good, just a tiny bit of brownish shadowing under her eyes. One thing that is nice is that she did have odor from the tears and this product really helps to clear that up. Now she really is pretty much odor free when I put my nose there, so I think some of the natural antibacterial ingredients in this do work for that. I might alternate between this and Nutri-Vet to keep the bacteria from becoming resistant to one type of product.

This product was the first pet/animal product I have ever had the pleasure to review and having a beagle myself I enjoyed receiving the product to try. The first thing I liked about this product was that it was 100% organic. Nowadays, where there are so many chemicals and different types of components in products it is nice to see that things can still be natural and not animal tested.Now, Hunter is a Beagle and he does not typically have the eye tear problems that some other dogs face, but his face does get dirty and he does get "crud" around his eyes. I decided to try this product out on him. After giving him a bath, I gently cleansed around his eyes, eliminating the spots of old eye tracings and leaving his eye region clean and free coated. No more stains. His skin appeared lighter and this says it prevents infections so that is also nice to know.This product can also be used on cats and does not contain as I mentioned any steroids or chemicals so you can clean your cat or dog risk free. The bottle is 8 fl oz. and is quite a decent size that should last quite awhile. This product is definitely worth every penny. Great product. Highly recommended!
