Woods 59415 Indoor Screw-In Light Socket Screw-In w/ Wireless Remote Control & Programmable Timer; Energy Savings

This works perfectly after figuring out how to make it work for my setup. 1st - the syncing instructions were on the back of the remote. 2nd - after syncing it and using the on/off feature on the remote I had to cut the power to it by turning it off and on at the light switch in order to reset it and use the “on at dusk off after 5 hours” option.I purchased this product bc I couldn’t find a 40 watt dusk to dawn bulb for my front door that has a full glass panel and the light from the 60 watt bulb was glowing through my living room (annoying). My exterior light fixture is covered and it is connected to the same switch for my garage carriage lights. My carriage lights have a 60 watt dusk to dawn bulb, so this product enabled me to customize my front door lighting separate from the garage lighting.

This thing works great, but don’t overload it. If you use it for one bulb it’s terrific.

This light socket remote is great. My bedroom has an inset for the bed with an overhead light and I'd either have to put in a long cord or stand on the bed to turn it on and off. This is the perfect solution; now when I go to bed I can turn off my main bedroom light and just push a button to turn on the one over the bed. It has a feature where it will automatically turn on at dusk and stay on for a period of time. I set it to do so but it doesn't turn on, I think because there's a glass shade over the bulb and sensor so it may not ever be able to detect the light changes. I bought it for the remote so I still think it's a great addition.

Does not turn on at dusk. Does not operate regardless of the setting on the dial. This is a total piece of junk. Don't waste the money

Either I wasn’t following the instructions or it just didn’t work

I have just installed this in a covered outside lamp post socket. It works well from inside the house. It is a nice solution to controlling a light that has no switch inside the house. The package says that this unit is for inside installation and that is probably where it should usually be installed because the adjustments for the socket are on the socket itself rather than on the remote controller. I just keep it in the "on" position (rather than auto or various timer positions) and flick it on and off as needed.

I placed it in the light above the front door. Once the cord was plugged in, it would rub against the top of the screen door. The dusk to dawn sensor was fooled by the first light in the string. Once I took that light bulb out, it worked better. Having the remote was great. I kept it with my car keys. This way, I always had it when I came home from work, and I could turn the lights on before I got close to my front door.If the device was a little shorter, or the plug in was on the side, it would have worked better in my situation. I will keep looking for another solution, once this one stops working.

Works perfect for my interior light application. Remote is nice with soft buttons on and off. It is quiet in operation unlike a previous cheaper one I first had that gave out on me in a couple of months. It is worth the extra money for this brand name unit in my opinion, and I still consider it a great price. Remember- it does add about 2 inches to the height of the bulb , so check and make sure it will work in your fixture or possibly find a shorter type bulb (maybe LED) that fits.

Unfortunately there is no "OFF until remote turns it ON" option, so the light has to come on for 2 hours past sunset minimum. Otherwise it works well.
