amazon basics Cast-Iron Kettlebell 20Kg, Black

The bell is as expected and this was my second pair of bell from AmazonBasics. I was happy with the 2 16s that I had so I decided to get 2 20s. The same flaw that existed with 16s is what I observed on 20s. The handle is made with a dual cast and seems to have been attached or whatever the method of manufacturing, it is leaving a crease under the handle of the bell. This is particularly problematic for all ballistic moves for longer durations, as it leaves blisters and callouses on the palm. It is something I could easily fix by either filing it with a file or a sandpaper, but it is something I would've wanted to avoid doing. For the price, I think its a good deal.

Certainly a best buy for home or self workout I bought a 20kg Kettlebell. This thing never lets you down and certainly challenges you, let the Gym, Gym machines, Costly equipment, treadmills, spring machines and all other man invented exercise gizmos apart from pullup bars and barbells, let them all go into drain. This KB really builds muscle in no time, I tried other Kettlebell(KB) but this KB comes with smooth paint so you can maneuver in snatches, swings and halos easily and it does affect your palms.The dislike part is this is not a round shaped kettlebell it comes with end at North and South and at bottom so during snatches and presses you have to carefully adjust hands to not harm your bone, but you may get used to it over a period of time, I could not find round shaped kettlebell at this price point, else I would have gone for it. It also does not come with rubber finish at ends so you have to put a mat below so that you floor is safe and does not make sound.Dont waste your time searching for other kettlebells just buy it you will get used to it. Watch some youtube videos and select some Kettlebell flows and Complexes, perform them every alternate day / 3 times a week for 60 minutes and you are done, you will soon be in better shape, this piece of kettlebell can last for generations.Vishwanath Reddy. Lovely set of 20kgs, no complain about these kettle bells, good balance wide grip, larger loop, good for beginners to advance, if you are used to small loop handles like competition one, then these will take little time to adjust your clean & rest, but it’s awesome product for its price

Great product, good price.Arrived in proper package and new condition only issue was the glossy finish but solved by using sandpaper to roughen the surface.

Totally worth the money I spent

The moment you read these words go back, add to basket and buy this 20kg behemoth while they are still available.They’re heavy.They’re cheap.Only a moron would read on...Each time I have tried to buy one, they’re always “Temporarily out of stock”. But do like I did and persevere. In my case I was able to still add the out of stock 20kg to my basket and buy. A message told me that I’d receive my 20 kilos of iron delight once stock was available. One or two days later and I received a notification with a delivery date for a couple of days later.I suspect because of a) the weight and b) the low cost (and I mean Mariana Trench low) these things are shipped when orders reach a critical mass, which appears to be a matter of days unsurprisingly. But unlike the Mariana Trench they just keep getting lower and lower. I paid £48 two weeks ago, and at the time of writing this nonsense the price is now at a bonkers £42 and pence.Let’s put that in context... Forty quid for something that quite easily can cost x4 more.What’s basic about it? Dumbbells is as dumbbells does! It weighs 20kg, that’s all you need to know.The handle is fine btw re comfort. Or just wear gloves.And as you can see, with a bit of patience (read as: “a lot”), a can of white metal undercoat spray (Plasti-Kote 10598), a can of luminous yellow spray (Kobra HO048) and a final spray can of clear coat (Rust-oleum Crystal Clear) you too can look as awesome as any gym rat. Ok ok, more like a leotard-clad WAG-wanna-be.You’re welcome.

Arrived late and chipped paint on both sides. Oh... and having placed the order on the 1st... it's now being sold £4 cheaper. If this is representative of "Amazon Basics" range, won't be ordering again.

It's worth waiting to get a good quality cast-iron kettlebell. The cheaper plastic ones are often bulkier which often defeats the point, especially if you want to do something like a kettlebell swing.I'm often amazed at reviews of kettlebells to see people complain about the finish. Kettlebells by their nature usually take a few knocks and in general are more industrial looking pieces of kit. You want one to be well finished, but I wouldn't grumble too much about it looking a bit rough and ready. With this in mind I expected this to arrive with paint imperfections and metal 'bobbles', but have been pleasantly surprised, it's very well finished indeed.The handles are smooth and free from burrs, the paint is consistent and well applied, and the bell itself is as good as you'll find. You could spend more and get a chrome handle or a higher finish, but I really wanted to spend as little as possible but to get a bit of kit that would be robust and last.I ordered the 20kg and couldn't be happier with it. If you value function (and value for money) over form then this is the kettlebell for you.

Ok I brought the 20kg. Don't get me wrong this is a well made bell and mine arrived in mint condition. The problem is the finish . It is coverd in a glossy finish which make's it slippery and whilst I'm using it I'm always very aware that it could slip from my grasp at any time whilst I am doing Kettlebell swings!! This bell is good for things Like goblit sqauts, suitcase deadlifts and any slowish movment. For things like cleans and swings and more explosive moves I would look else where for a Kettlebell with a better finish!

Excellent no frills kettlebell. Got a pair of 20kg for strength training at home. Really good price for the pair considering the ridiculous prices increases on weights etc since lockdown began. Had to keep checking regularly to see when back in stock .Highly recommended.
