Ion Mint Semi Permanent Hair Color Mint

This is one of the most beautiful pastels I’ve ever dyed my hair with. I’ve always done bright jewel tones and decided to give pastels a shot. I found that most of them started off nice but faded quickly. This one lasts longer and fades slowly and looks gorgeous at all stages with no greying like most pastels. Photos show how it looks under indoor/outdoor lighting.

I looooove this hair color. Love it. It's soft and perfect. I bleach my hair to near white and then leave on this dye for an hour or more. For me, the dye lasts a long time and doesn't rinse out after 2 washes. If anything, it just becomes a little more blue (less green) after a couple washes but still really nice! Attached are pictures of a fresh dye, and then a few washes later.

I only put the dye on about 1/4 of my hair. It looks great, except the roots are a little odd looking, like a darker green than the rest of it, but I think that was just because the bleach I used before it didn't get the roots well enough. My only issue is that the tube doesn't really have a lot of dye in it. That 1/4 of my hair took the whole tube. So, if you have thick or long hair, you probably want to buy more than one if you plan on dying your whole head. I kept mine on for the whole 40 minutes, and it turned out almost exactly how I wanted. I haven't washed my hair yet so idk if it fades or not. Overall great product, works as expected, turned out great!

I bought salmon, mint, lavender, and chartreuse from Sally Beauty, and I guess you get what you pay for. (Which is total disappointment, in case you were wondering.) Pros: Doesn't smell terrible, and doesn't stain your skin. Cons: Doesn't leave the correct color, or sometimes any color at all. I did everything I was supposed to, and the directions didn't say that you needed to cover or use heat for processing on bleached hair, but maybe following the instructions was where I went wrong. I first dyed with salmon, and it turned out a hideous orange color. Not orange-ish pink, but dilute tangerine orange. Not remotely close to the color I wanted, and it washed out patchily. The second one, which I just tried today, was mint and it left NOTHING in my hair. I wanted to do a teal base with mint streaks, and the teal (Manic Panic Siren's Song) worked wonderfully! When I rinsed with cold water, though, I had clearly un-dyed hair where I had tried to highlight with the ion dye. I tried dyeing AGAIN, let it sit in even longer, cold rinsed, and still had no results. I've done everything right with this brand, but it just wouldn't work. Now I'll have to waste my time trying to fix it.

Pros: Color was even and not too bright(closer to pastel like I wanted) Cons: It was more blue than I expected.
