The brackets themselves are fine, but expensive.I finished deck looks awesome because there are no screws on top or on the sides of the boards either.Mechanically speaking you could run screws in at an angle through your joists, but because these screws are going in sideways into the joist and straight up into the deck board it really is the most mechanically sound way to do this.
