The Golden Era in St. Petersburg: Postwar Prosperity in The Sunshine City

I loved the details of everyday life and the way the author gave an honest account of what life was like for everyone (not just white people) in that time period. Wonderful inclusion of particular characters and places. Better than most in this series.

I lived in St. Petersburg for fifty years and enjoyed it very much. I bought it for my son for Christmas. He grew up there and is very interested in the history and is always visiting places there he remembers as a kid. I also bought him THE MAKING OF ST. PETERSBURG and THE SUNSHINE SKYWAY BRIDGE SPANNING TAMPA BAY. Of course I had to read them before I wrapped them for him. Liked them all.

So many things in this book I remember! Anyone who grew up here or even just lived here during this time frame should read this book. Great job, Jon, now we need the next era.

I really enjoyed this book. It was for the period when I was growing up and often wondered about things I experience during that period. Well written and easy to read.

As someone who grew up in St Pete for a few years during the era covered by this book, I can say that it was most interesting and informative. Loved the old photos of water FL used to look like.

Great Book for those of us born/raised in St. Petersburg - arrived in perfect condition.
