Product is as expected. Some scenes are obviously cut from this edition.
A single, double-sided DVD, as expected for this edition. No scratches. It appears that the more intense scenes are edited out in this version as well as "colored clouds" being present in other scenes still present in this version.

shocking. edgy. not for kids. overall good though
ambitious. aggressive. shocking and edgy. Graphically violence and not for kids absolutely. A statement for it's time and cutting edge on top of edgy. Worth the experience but not at the collector prices I've checked. revolutionary and the graphically violent material in a way fits the image story and atmosphere they were trying to capture. If you are a true fan of anime and manga try to give this a view to for an opinion of your own. necessary.

Gets a bad rep but...
As you can see by many fans of this series, most will say it's a disappointment. The thing is, there is another way of looking at the series that actually puts it in a better light. It IS a continuation, it DOES have a fairly thin story line but there lies the point I think. The idea is that things have gone desperately different to what was originally implied. The world has gone to ruin as the Chojin is NOT what he seems as Suikakuju stated to Amanojaku in the first series before he is killed. It's a tale of dramatic error and fault with the best intentions from each flawed character. This series takes any fan of the series to a place they didn't really want to go, Urotsukidoji generally is not a series to sit and chill out to, you have to be part of the whole ethos - Toshio Maeda himself wrote this to be a certain type of entertainment. The characters in part III of any note:Buju (The makemono) - He loves sex and is easily led by any woman willing (or not)Caesar: Someone with the urge to override the chojin with Faust at his side (why? meh)Alector: the daughter of Ceasar who falls in love immediately with Buju after he blackmails her for sex on showing her the lower world she craves to see but Ceasar will not allow - She is also turned into a robot after she risks her life for Buju and is killed as he holds Kyo-O in his arms. She is also raped by Ceasar as she is remade but still yearns desperately for BujuKyo-O: The child of Nagumo and Akemi and the counterpart to the Chojin ethos, the "hope"AmanoJyaku: The wandering kid himself who is still watching things go to complete chaos but trying to stop the destruction of Osaka and death of Kyo-OMegumi: Just there for sexual scenes as far as I'm concernedyes it's flawed, but it's a piece of art and purists or fans of the first parts need only apply. Open your mind to it and dont expect a repeate or improvement over the first parts. Think of it as a spin off series
