Coffee and pastries is an essential part of fellowship between church services. We purchased 2 and make regular and decaf coffee. They work great, have great flavor and the highly polished look fits in well with our newly remodeled Fellowship Hall.

I ordered two of these West Bend coffee urns for our church. We had previously owned the same type but in a larger size that made 100 cups of coffee. After many years of service, it was still working but we decided to order new ones. These urns are so dependable that they will last a long, long time. We chose "two" 55-cup urns this time for the ability to have two coffee stations going instead of a single line. Plus, the smaller urns are easier to handle and to clean. We love having the two coffee stations. The West Bend coffee urn is the workhorse of coffee urns.

Our church uses coffee urns every Sunday, and other times for weddings, funerals, special events. One of the old ones was probably 10 years (or more) old, and the heating element finally went out. We've been using this one for just a few weeks, but the observations so far: Heats quickly (Ok, it's 55 cups, so it's not instant or anything), the build quality seems better than what it is replacing, the cleaning tool makes sense, and should keep it working well for a long time (note: we have hard water, and lime deposits tend to collect in the heating well...in the past, we would boil some white vinegar periodically to clean out the lime...this has a cleaning tool, which should minimize the need for this). No cons so far, but will update if there are issues.

I am very happy with our new west bend. It runs every day except when I have my store closed on Sundays and the holidays and it runs from 8:30am to 6 pm and my customers love it so they can get a cup of hot apple cider.. new it been almost year but now it is leaking from some where around the base not very happy the cheap Walmart one a had last lasted 3 years

Nine months after purchase the plastic top to the metal cover no longer attaches to the cover by means of a screw. The screw has nothing to grab onto because the plastic has worn away. Why not provide a metal anchor for the screw within the plastic top?

I bought this urn for a church function of 50 people. I was very pleased. It made 55 cups of coffee in 55 minutes (that’s 1minute/cup) and it kept it hot for 6 hours. You do not need a coffee filter, but I used a regular coffee filter by cutting a small hole in the center and this made it much easier to empty the grounds when we were finished. So far, it was a great purchase! Btw, I didn’t find it all that noisy.
