Basic Replacement Remote for Element EL4KAMZ4317, EL4KAMZ5017, EL4KAMZ5517, EL4KAMZ6517. without Voice Recognition.

My flimsy remote that came with my cheap Element Fire TV quit working. I could control it with the FireTV app on my phone, but if you think I'm going to walk over to it and power it on and off like a caveman.....I should have just searched and ordered one to start with, but I thought I would grab a universal remote from Walmart (my only choice close by). What followed was a hilarious series of annoyances that reinforced why I just order this stuff. In the end, I had one tiny remote that would control it but had no directional control (who watches TV with numbers and channels nowadays?). I also had a gigantic remote that would control it but I had to turn the TV off to return to the home screen. Luckily I only had $20 invested in this poor decision.So I searched Amazon and found this remote that promised to work out of the box. I ordered it, got it in a few days, put a batteries in, and tested it. It works exactly like the original did with no synch or code scanning. Just like the original, the keypresses aren't precise and I have to press carefully, but that's how the OEM one was, so I'm not mad.It's exactly what I needed and does exactly what it claims to do.

I have an earlier version of the Element Fire TV and the remote stopped working. I discovered that they did not make replacement remotes and would have to pay $70 for a used one. I thought I would try this and it WORKS! Since then, my other remote started working again. As we know, the Element products will stop working and for no explanation will work again. I'm so happy to have this back-up remote.

The replacement remote is adequate and apparently one of the few options available when replacing the original remote for the Element FireTV. I miss the voice control that was on the original remote and wish they provided that option, but there’s always the FireTV remote app on my iPhone that works pretty. As other reviews have mentioned, this remote does require it to be pointed directly at the TV when pressing buttons. Also you have to be more deliberate when pressing each button, still this remote works better than what others had described and it doesn’t take long to adapt to the differences. Yes, I would buy again if needed. I’m just disappointed that Amazon didn’t anticipate what their customers would do when the actual Element television outlasted the remote control that came with it.

We bought this remote on July 23rd, set the remote up and all was fine. This was in use in our Lake house, we visit occasionally. It stopped working Labor Day Weekend - We changed batteries, reprogramed the TV - nothing worked. It will turn the TV on or off but no side to side on the toggle area, no volume control, Nothing - on or off only. Tried to return - 30 day policy, no credit or replacement. LOUSEY Product

It worked as soon as I got it out of the bag which was super nice. It doesn’t have Alexa voice control and only has buttons for Netflix and Prime video, but other than that it’s a really great replacement remote

Good value for the money and good quality. It had no problems with connecting and feels solid in the hand with quality build and buttons. However, some of the original buttons are not on this device but nonetheless I would definitely recommend it.

I've looked all over for a remote that would work with my 42" Element Fire TV (the original one vanished...). A used OEM remote was $75-$149 on auction sites - I could almost replace the TV for that! This is a simple remote that works great for all the functions I need for the TV. The " * " button is easy access for closed captioning, and the other buttons (except the two blank ones - one seems to cycle through installed apps, the other is for "input" or "source") are self explanatory. My older family member who can never seem to figure out remotes says this one is easier than the original. Highly recommended - I'm buying a spare in case this one disappears too...

The size is nice. The volume buttons on the side are nice as well. As is the mute button.However, in less than two weeks the unit has begun to fail. The right arrow button has failed completely. As you are aware, the right arrow is a very important button in the operation of any of the menus.That one failure inside of two weeks makes the device not worth purchasing. If that had not failed, the small size is very attractive. But buying a new one every ten days would be out right silly.So, not a suggested purchase. Of course, you might get lucky and get one that is rock solid for years to come. I did not.
