As a refreshing cordial with sparkling water

There’s a sickly smell which impacts on the taste. I’ve had other premium botanical cola flavourings before but this is not great and apparently contains E numbers that aren’t great (according to warning on the bottle) I think the smell could be linked to lime which is a cordial we normally get but smells a bit sickly, hard to describe.

As you would not expect an Indian Tonic to taste anything like a vindaloo or korma, don't expect the taste of Coke or Pepsi from Kola Tonic. It has its own flavour and for me it's best with sparkling water or soda. You may also enjoy it with gin or vodka, soda, a slice of lemon and plenty of ice in a long glass. Drinking this takes me back to watching the sunset under the palm trees at Camps Bay in Cape Town a few years back.

I bought this as I love natural flavored cola, and Mawson's cordial was our of stock on Amazon.I can only give 3 stars as this cordial has a really overpowering taste of lemon. I'm used to natural class sometimes having a lemon (and apple) taste, but for me the cola taste was just not there. I only tried with soda, certainly did not want to use lemonade with it!I really wanted to like this, however if you love cola with a big squirt of lemon juice it might be for you!
