HMF6946006 Quiet Core for Exhaust

I purchased a performance kit. Includes HMF exhaust, K&M filter and a HMF fuel optimizer. My new HMF exhaust for my 4 wheeler was just to loud so i ordered this. As per instructions I removed end cap and installed this core and my spark arrestor. The core fit into a machined groove that was obviously there for this core. Without the spark arrestor i could imagine the core might rattle. But instructions clearly indicated the proper installation. Tightened bolts and off I went. Now it has a nice rumble but is not crazy loud. Core did its job. Before the core install my machine sounded like a race machine. After core install i think it sounds more like a muscle street machine, more in tune. Personnally i think the exhaust system should come with tuning options included.I'm happy with the sound and performance. Hope my neighbors don't mind.I recommend HMF products including this one. This is my first HMF set of purchases.

I’m giving this one star just for the fact at idle it’s quiets down my quad, when in the gas it whistles and sounds terrible! I’ll go back to the ear piercing loudness hmf offers. Junk!

Installs in about 2 minutes; significantly quieter while still keeping a nice rumble. Getting older and was tired of it being so loud you could hear from 2 miles away.

Fits and the HMF QS and titan XL. Make sure you add the spark arrester screen to take up any slack in the space and make sure it doesn’t rattle around it works great reduces the volume quiets down the exhaust to a nice rumble!

although it did reduce the sound, by design it is not a quiet exhaust. do not think you are going to be silent by adding this to the HMF. with that said, the core did calm down the loud pipe.

People say it rattles. You have to use the spark arrestor. I tore off the screen and used just the ring. This keeps the core tightly in place so it won’t rattle. This core cut the sound on my Renegade 500 in half. It does raise the pitch a little but still deep and mean. I can hear myself think again.

I have a 2017 Yamaha grizzly with the swamp series and I wanted to tone it down a little because I was adding a boss atv speaker and it not only didn’t fit right (I had to add some washers around it to actually get it to tighten down) but it made it louder and backfire a lot I took it off after 5 minutes
