On my first use it felt VERY flimsy. I was afraid that I was going to bend and break the metal blades, but the onion was decent sized and very hard. So... I hit the lid with a closed fist with a bit of force, and down she went. I took and opened it and examined it--and she held up to the entire task. Several onions later, I switched to a softer Green chili pepper, and had no problems at all. I am quite satisfied with this device. I heard someone broke it on a tomato. They probably either A) had it assembled sideways, or B) broke it earlier trying to put steady pressure on a hard item and they just did not notice. If you have a hard item, do not be afraid to give it a bit of sudden force (a good jab). If you disassemble it (which I have not yet), please put it together CORRECTLY. That is how I broke a predecessor--one that was not levered like this one is--at least on that model it is possible to put the grid in sideways (90 degrees out of sync) and cause the blades to not line up with the plastic grate.UPDATE: I finally took it apart: This ONLY goes together one way. So for the person who broke it on a tomato, here is what I have to say about that: If you take it apart for cleaning, MAKE SURE it is put together properly (everything snapped and flush) before you use it. MAKE SURE all parts are clean. IF you have a single small seed on the blade's latching mechanism, it might be JUST ENOUGH to throw it out of alignment and you might wreck the blades. Do not throw it together and immediately rough house it. Go back and forth a few times with nothing on it, feeling for vibrations or 'snags' during the movement. If you feel something--INVESTIGATE. Otherwise--it SHOULD be good to go!

Product was as advertised! Had all the parts and easy to use instructions in the manual. (Make sure to read because certain blades are for soft veggies like mushroom)Easy to take apart and easy to use! My favorite was being able to make guac in that one container after chopping the necessary veggies with the product. Excited to try new things, just overall excited veggie prep time got reduced by a ton!!Highly recommend!

I have owned several similar vegetable cutters. They all had flaws of one kind or another. The rubber feet came off, the bowls cracked, or they became dull. I have owned this one for several months, used it often, and it is the best so far. Very sharp--watch your fingers when assembling....

I eat a lot of salads. With this chopper I can process the vegetables ahead of time to make my assembly time quick. I chop up celery, carrots, onion, zucchini, radishes, peppers and anything else I might want to add to my salad and store in an air tight container in the refrigerator. Granted you do have to cut the vegetables the blades, but this is no problem. When I want a salad, I toss the chopped vegetables in with my lettuce, slice some tomatoes and am set to go.It has a good sized container so I don't have to empty while chopping. Because it is larger it has good leverage when pressing down on the lid to push the food through the blades.Cleaning takes a minute because the food gets caught in the grooves on the lid. A rake tool and brush are supplied and work to clear the food. Like I say It may take a minute.

I love this fruit & veggie chopper...I wish that I would have found it years ago. It makes making fruit salad so easy. The pieces come out uniformly cut, I have used it several times since I purchased it. I've used it to make potato salad, fruit salad, I even made egg salad with it. I would definitely recommend it to friends & family. I even convinced my sister to buy one and she loves it as well. It comes with a little brush & comb to get into the crevices for easy clean up... buy one, you won't be disappointed.

Your browser does not support HTML5 video.  To test this out, I made a mixed vegetable salad. I chopped jicama, bell pepper, carrot, broccoli, cauliflower, and cabbage. I added all that to some chopped leafy greens (which I had to chop with a knife and a cutting board). Before I could use the chopping machine, I also had to use the knife and cutting board to cut each item to a size that would fit onto the chopper's square blade. When using this chopping device, I had to use both hands on the lever and put a lot of weight into each cut. It was a light workout. In the end, I decided that I'd probably give this thing away. Since I had to get out the cutting board and knife to cut the vegetables to a size for the machine, I figured it was better to finish the job with the knife. Also, some of the vegetables got stuck in the apparatus, which made it a little difficult to clean. Very sturdy product...We have gone thru 2 previous slap chops in about 3 years and decided to give this one a try. We've put this food chopper thru its paces over the last few weeks and we're very impressed! We used it for onions, carrots, garlic, celery, and mushrooms and encountered zero problems. The attachments work well and easily interchangeable. Cleans up well in the dishwasher and believe this unit will hold well up over time.

I put baby golden potatoe onto a blade that I knew would be bite size, and pushed down the top, and perfect! I made my home made potaoe Obrien's. I chopped onions and bell peppers. Perfect. I can't wait until I try it out to make home made soups.

Its very sturdy with the grippers on the bottom of the actual container that catches everything you chop! does the job super quickly, it's very easy to clean as it comes with 2 cleaning tools which make it super easy , stop thinking about it and buy it you wont be disappointed.

Very good cutting Box that you can have in the kitchen to do quick and precise cuts, make sure you follow the instruction to know which blade is for which type of food, It did cut everything properly except the mushrooms, it did cut it however it was not a clean cut.The material of the chopper is ridged and has cleaning brush to make it easier to clean between the pins after usage. I wish if they would sell separate pieces as you need them.overall, my brother uses this most of the time to cut food for family dishes and he did like it for its speediness and practicality.

A picture to give you a proportional size. This is great works perfectly so far. I love to cook but hate all the chopping ( especially onions). This gadget makes it a breeze.

Overall happy with the purchase. The only thing I wish it could be a size in between these two because one is too large and the very next one too small. Otherwise it’s easy to clean, the knives are sharp and not much effort needed to press to cut the veggies.

Does not matter how you like your veggies or fruits, this set can do it! Super easy and quick to use, I love that all the parts fit inside when not in use so you’re not looking for something in a drawer! When chopping things with a skin such as peppers or apples, make sure the skin is down so the blade cuts through the skin.... and be careful, these are super sharp (I cut my finger last night trying to get a piece of veggie out from the blade). The extras that came with the kit are actually amazing. Tbh I thought I was going to toss the veggie peeler but once I used it on sweet potatoes, I was blown away, it’s as easy as putting a knife through warm butter! The scraper tool helps get pieces out from the top portion (such as green onion), just use it like a comb and everything is dishwasher safe (I put it on the top rack just in case).
