Works very well for Astro on Z7
Good: Sufficient sharp; low weight; goes smooth on Z7 compared to other Nikon lenses made in China; auto focus (pin point) on stars works very good; seems to meet typical MTF spec; only very corners soft at 1.8 - 5.6; top half was not as sharp as bottom half (no problem , if you set AF Fine Tune=OFF and use single point on your subject you will be fine or stay > =F5.6 for landscapes ), 77mm filters, in case you need it; close focus is excellent from 2-3 inches to inf, which is very important for wide angle lenses; good color representation.Expensive compared to the F 20mm/1.8 Used before.Good for my friends to use - best 20mm Nikon lens IMO (50mm Z is still a little better)Sharpness doesn't make good pictures (may be more so in astro-photography).

Best Nikon lense I ever bought
This wide angle lense is easily the best lens I have ever used. The image quality is excellent and it's perfect for automotive photography, especially interior shots.

The landscape and astrophotography lens for the Z system
Very sharp, very-good coma characteristics. Light weight and takes filters. If you do a lot of landscape photography this is a fantastic lens. I reach for this more than the Sigma 14mm 1.8 art lens which is wider and allows for longer exposures of the milky way, and I reach for this more than the Sigma 40mm 1.4 art and Nikon 50mm 1.8 s lens which have (slightly) better coma performance wide open but not always the right view for captures with a lot of the milky way galactic core and arm. I'm very much a beginner but this lens really opens up a lot of possibilities.

Stunning
Lightweight, well constructed lens. IQ is utterly stunning. My favorite wide angle over the years was the Leica 19mm R lens. This 20mm is better in every respect.

Just what I hoped for
Love the image quality and color no complaints whatsoever

Exceeded my expectaions
I read a lot of reviews before purchasing this lens. I have used it primarily for Milky Way photography. With the 1.8 it allows shorter timed shots which keeps the stars very sharp. The 20mm is just about perfect for capturing the Milky Way and foreground subjects.

World Leading Z Lens
The 20mm f1.8 is just another world leading Z-S lens. It is razor sharp, center to corners, wide open! It controls all the usual lens aberrations. Bokeh is smooth and creamy, for a 20mm lens. Build quality is top notch, and it is weather sealed. What's not to like?

Gorgeous Milky Way Lens
I did a lot of lens research after moving into the Z system (Z6ii) as I love to shoot the Milky Way. It was between this and the 14-24 2.8. Besides the cost difference, I loved the additional light that the 1.8 could bring. This lens also got great reviews everywhere, and after using it, I can see why. Even wide open at 1.8, I’m very happy with coma, ca, corners, etc. I was worried about focus by wire, and while I don’t love it, I’ve found the adjustment to be easier than expected. Results are light years beyond my crop sensor days. I would easily recommend this lens for anyone with similar interests.

Muy buen lente para arquitectura
Dentro de la serie Z, es de las mejores opciones para foto de arquitectura. Gran apertura y buen distancia focal. Para video, casi no tiene focus breathing, lo cual es muy bueno también

Excellent lens but not the seller
The lens box felt like it was opened earlier further the country of Origin was Taiwan (as advertised) but the lens I received had the country of origin - China.I could not return the lens as I had a journey next day and I had to carry that lens.Excellent lens but not the seller. Thus, before getting this kind of products online just check your nearby stores for brand new lens and sealed box packing. I do not feel its a new lens but I had no other option.

Superb lens! Excellent edge sharpness.
When I have needed wide angles for my Z7 up to this past week, I've either used the 35mm Z-mount Nikon I bought a year ago, or, for wider, a Sigma F-mount wide angle zoom which has worked pretty well, with no vignette, but required the mount adapter (which I dislike using as it's one more thing to carry and put on and pull off depending on the lens in use). I've been trying to go to Z mount for all the main lenses I carry, but up to this lens, I wasn't impressed with anything on the market wider than 35mm except for a fisheye (which isn't in the same category as a 20mm). This is not a cheap lens, though, and may be out of the price range for some photographers (especially if you don't use wide angles a lot). Having said all that, this lens is worth every penny. When I got the lens I went around photographing all kinds of things to "play" with the lens and see its capabilities. I used it in auto and manual modes, with and without the included flare cap, at several f-stops and speeds. Without exception, the lens was sharp edge-to-edge with no vignette and no distortion. The edge definition is superb; I saw no evidence of less-than-sharp edges even under high magnification in Photoshop. The lens is longer and heavier than the 35mm Z, but gives you the extra field of view you need on occasion. While I've been delighted with many Nikon Z lenses this past year, this 20mm has exceeded expectations and is a wonderful lens. Expensive. Worth it. Great photos!

Súper nítida de lado a lado
Siempre es muy útil tener una abertura amplia lo cual no es tan común en esta distancia focal. Excelente para paisajes urbanos con poca luz, interiores y astro fotografía. Un poco grande y pesado.

Very very sharp!
I have the old version 20 f1.8G. Comparing to the old one, this Z lens is extremely sharp from corner to corner even in F1.8, which makes it a perfect lens for astrophotography. Of course you can use it for landscape or under any low light condition. I also have the Z 35 f1.8, but honestly if this 20mm f1.8 is coming out first, I will definitely get this one instead of the 35 f1.8, wider is always better. Overall I think this Z lens is beyond my expectation and I am happy to have it!
