Mine is really noisy. Are they all noisy or is mine defective? I need to return it and wonder if I should try another one or a different model.

Hi The one i got the noise is normal (I am X appliance repair) if it vibrate you need to find a better spot on your floor.if that doesn't help and it so noise that you can't handle it, so call Brio talk to customer service and follow his advise

Do you have to push a button to dispense cold water?

Yes. It’s not auto dispense. But that is ok: There are (3) buttons : HOT ROOM TEMPERATURE COLD Personally this stainless steel unit was a little pricey @ $399 than a white one by Primo I was eyeing which was less than half in the same style. It’s noisy (louder than a faint hum) when the compressor clicks on from time to time to keep the water cold and hot in the dispenser’s reservoirs. But it’s beautiful so for me it’s worth hearing it from time to time. Hope this helps.
