Escaping from Eden

Who or what is God? Escaping from Eden discusses this and more.
First, I would like to begin by explaining what attracted me to Paul’s work. Recently in my life, due to my physical health deteriorating since suffering a traumatic brain injury, I found myself thanking “God” for being able to continue to live on at any capacity. So, in thanks, I began my very first read-through of the Bible. Not too long after I started reading, I noticed there seem to be many references to material that the Bible writers assume you would already know while reading. For example, in Numbers 13, God commands Moses to send men to spy out the land of Canaan. Now, if God’s omniscient, why would he/she need to have Moses take such action? Also, in number 13:33, we have this verse: “We also saw the Nephilim there (the sons of Anak are part of the Nephilim); and we were like grasshoppers in our own sight, and so we were in their sight.” I find myself asking the question, who is Anak, and why does the Bible assume I should already know this? The more of the Bible I read, the more I began to wonder. Who or what is God? Why would he be jealous and need the use of men to spy and cause war? What happened to the benevolent God I learned about in Catholic school? These questions and more are what eventually lead to me getting my hands on Escaping from Eden. This book explores the very same questions I asked myself when reading through the Bible. Each time I read through Escaping from Eden, I find myself asking more questions. Truthfully, this is one of the most thought-provoking books I have ever read. Every time I start reading this, I cannot put it down. I highly recommend this book for anyone, like myself, who questions the concept of the God described in the Old Testament. After reading Escaping from Eden, I found myself researching more about our ancient past and beliefs than I ever have before. In conclusion, I would like to thank the Author for all the time and research he put into his work. The quality of content in this book is superb and is very easy to follow along. Once you pick this up, I guarantee you will not want to put it down until you’re finished. I know I can’t. Simply superb.

This book changed my life.
Paul Wallis is a superb writer. His style is easy to read and keeps you involved and intrigued. The first time I heard him interviewed was December 2023. It wasn't long before I had ordered 2 of his books. I have always been a truth seeker. Over the years when I would ask some deep questions of religious leaders I kept getting the same answer, "Sometimes we don't know the answers, we just have to take it by faith". That never satisfied me, so I set out on the search for truth on my own. The information given by Paul Wallis in his books is presented in a manner that keeps you coming back for more. I now own all of his Eden series books and have begun re reading them. The second reading is even better! I highly recommend all the Eden series books to anyone who is not afraid to test what was taught to them and once accepted in blind faith. Truth completes the puzzle and connects the dots. Truth liberates and brings peace and joy back into your life!

How to reconcile Christian Faith with knowledge of ETs?
This book answers the big Question: How do I reconcile my Christian Faith with the knowledge of life on other planets? How can I understand the Old Testament in terms of Extra Terrestrial visitors? This book is a deep dive into Bible translation and compares it to old writings and myths from all over the world. I found this book to be helpful and mind expanding!

The truth is out there, but we still need to find it!
Escaping From Eden is a compilation of questions on discrepancies and interpretations of the Old Testament story of Genesis. The author, Paul Wallis, deduces some very plausible hypotheses, but they are currently colorful connections and unprovable conjectures. This is not to say his theories are wrong and someday more findings may come forth to support them, but contradicting evidence is skipped over, thus occasionally skimming the narrative into pseudo-science. Presenting examples of artifacts and structures that should not exist, instead of glazing over them and just accepting them, he does make us stop, question and look at the chronological anomalies of anthropology and whether our brains were deliberately genetically arranged to prevent us from achieving greater potentials. Am I glad I read this book? Certainly! Am I glad we live in a modern age in which Wallis can put forth his views without having to face a heresy trial and possible burning upon a stake? Definitely! His ideas provide interesting insights that are worth consideration and it presents another approach on how our views on prehistory and biblical story fragments may not be accurate. I respect Wallis’ study but the lack of footnoted references or a bibliography forces one to take his wording at face value. Some of the items presented as facts need to be looked into deeper, even if they may debunk the claims. The book is a quick read, enjoyable, reveals an assortment of archeology and the final chapters wrap up nicely – it may even slightly alter your reality!

great read
My only criticism is that it is not published on audible; audible dropped the ball on this author. this author gives a different perspective on the bible and its contents .

Masterfully written, with relatable senerio and simple description
Paul could have made this book ultra scientific and in language that only his colleagues could decipher. Yet he wrote in simple, easily understood language and I found it both informative as well as mysterious, much like a novel..except the content is about where you and I came from, and where we are destined.Excellent read.!!

MIND BLOWN!
This book illuminated quite a bit of questions I have had my whole life growing up in religious schools. There are no definitive answers here, but what the author cites is enough conversation to keep you awake for the next month. The author also did an exceptional job of sharing his personal feelings on the subject and I also felt like we were on the same journey together.

Wonderfully written, very smooth in reading, the book flows like water; one thought follows the next and everypart is very intresting and researched. I cross- reference and check fact or claims by also trying to get another perspective and this book holds up what it promises. If you are ready to seek answers for your questions about the topic then you should definetly include this in your research.
