PreSonus FaderPort Single-Fader USB Control Surface (2nd Generation) (Renewed)

Light weight, sturdy, looks beautiful, and preforms too! "Free" included software very basic and needs upgraded but that takes $ but again the very basic software is free. Fairly inexpensive. Performance is great when working with Studio One. It's a nice size with simple functions but manages to serves a real purpose when wanting to incorporate some automation with a my remote broadcast biz.

I have been recording music in my very modest and low budget home studio for a couple of years, slowly purchasing all of the things I need as I am able to afford them. I really didn't know exactly what to expect from this faderport V2 from presonus, but I am falling in love with it more each time I use it.It comes in a very sturdy box, and is fairly user-friendly especially for a person like myself that isn't the most "tech-savvy." You do have to register the product with presonus and then download a Universal-control but it comes with a bunch of free plug-ins that are all awesome and I believe it comes with Studio One "Artist." I say that because I already have "professional" so I didn't need to download it.It has a motorized fader that automatically sets itself to the level of the selected channel, and it also has secondary functions for all the buttons as well. I pretty much takes the mouse out of the equation and puts total control at your fingertips.This is a very useful product, and I recommend it to anybody who is serious about recording and has a little extra cash.

Setup in Ubuntu Studio using Ardour. Works as the Ardour manual says, ++. Makes clicking less necessary and will add up to saving time. I wanted the maximum channel version initially but after playing with this I'm happy as I am a one-man operation at the moment and this works just fine.

Product conditions were perfect just as new, even though it was renewed by Amazon. Great functionality!
