91 Days: The Complete Series [Blu-ray]

My stars relate to the product rather than actual show it's self which I will explore later on down. The package which I recieved from RightStufAnime came a day before the last expected arrival date which was a pleasant surprise as most other products have come at the very last moment.It was in very great condition meaning no scratches or broken cases/discs. There was a slight dent in the corner of the box that the disc case resides in but it's such a minute detail that it just barely deserves mentioning. As well as the case, inside the box is the art book/episode guide which I really liked looking through. Outside the box, unfortunately, are the art cards that come with in a black envelope. The envelope will not fit inside the case nor the box. Perhaps tape it to the box? I don't really know. This is honestly the only negative and it's not a big enough problem to bump it down a star but, I find it worth mentioning.91 Days is simply put: Anime Godfather. I cannot express how much I adore 91 Days and it's characters whom I remember from my first viewing back in the Summer 2016 anime season. Regrettably, Re:Zero, Mob Psycho 100 Series 1 and several other more popular anime had also come out in the same period causing many to overlook it. Honestly, if you haven't seen this anime before because you yourself had looked over it then or you just want a decent anime to watch, this anime might just surprise you so please give it a go. The anime also gets 5 stars. (Realistically it's an 8/10 though)

Set during the Prohibition era, the series follows Angelo Lagusa and his quest to seek revenge against the Vanetti Family. 91 days is a drama akin to the godfather in it's twists and turns. You can never be sure who will betray who next. Or if a character will be alive by episodes end.Through-out the shows runtime, the main character angelo, lies, steals and manipulates his way through the ranks of the vanetti family. Til he finally finds himself where he wants to be, at the right hand of nero vanetti, one of the men who murdered his family.The way angelo manipulates and schemes is something to behold. Turning family and friend against each other, in a bid to destroy those who wronged him.The cast of 91 days is decent enough. But only a few characters really stand out. In the forefront would have to be fango. He plays such an over-the-top loose cannon, that he almost steals every scene.Another consideration is the genre, 91 days is definitely a drama first and action anime second. If you are wanting guns to be blazing every episode, then steer clear.Also the pacing could be a bit slow at times. With episodes passing with very little happening overall. So i had to dock a few points for that as well.Overall i enjoyed my time with the show and can definitely recommend it for anyone, who loves the prohibition time period. Or movies in the same vein as the Godfather or Gangsters.

This was fantastic! Every episode was full of info, drama, beauty, and yes...revenge. ;) I cried, laughed and was shocked about the storyline and the characters are the tops. From the first to the last episode it's on the edge of your seat awesomeness as you get an inside glance on what a life in the mafia during prohibition would've been like. A MUST SEE fit any anime fan that likes to se action, drama, friendship, loyalty, true grit, raw emotions with an ending that could only be from a true story. Yes! This hit the bullseye for me.

The audio on this fluctuates from so quiet you have to turn it up to suddenly incredibly loud and I can’t pick a middle ground on the volume because there’s no subtitles at all and I can’t watch anything without subtitles so I couldn’t get through the first episode :/one day I’ll watch it but it’ll be a challenge sadly, I was super interested after seeing trailers and scenes elsewhere, if you’re hearing is good and you don’t need subtitles it’s okay I would suppose?There’s still the issue of them talking quietly and then speaker-cracking level volume lol maybe it’s just me I hope

91 Days is my favourite anime of all time. It's dark, it's gritty, it takes place in the prohibition and paints a dark, bleak image of the human mind in one of the most fascinating ways. It's got the same quality that I loved with Death Note in its exploration of the darkest depth of humanity with the added bonus of being about the Mafia. Just don't watch when there are young ones around.

An anime set in the prohibition era? Yes and its definitely worth checking out.

Dis' show has enough mighty zoot-suits and gangster drama to make you tight in the wuzzah and happy in the treasure trove. Its all boom, bam, ka-pow, with a touch of the thump-thump madness that makes anime good. The only grain in the ink is the done-done 'efour this nature of the show.

kept my attention

It amazes me that such excellent a tale of crime and revenge set in prohibition era USA can be found in a Japanese animation. 91 days, along with the classic anime "Baccano", are two such works.Superbly written characters combined with visceral violence and brilliantly realistic artwork, bring this world to life. A superb period-authentic (to these Aussie ears, anyway) English language dub is the cherry on the cake of this series.91 days is not for the faint-hearted; it's very violent and has some harsh language, but these only add to the authentic aesthetic.The disc came from the states in two weeks (one week early), was excellent value and arrived in perfect condition as well.Highly recommended for fans of Baccano, The Untouchables and gangster films in general.

great anime. i do need to advise if you only like you anime taking place in japan or mc's being Japanese with"kawaii " "moe" anime girls this is not for you. this anime is more like a more tragic godfather story in anime format about revenge i was hooked but i see a lot of complaints because of it. again if your ok with or even like mafia and revenge stories you will like this one. it all takes place in the states and some parts Italy and all of them are Italian american no Japanese characters just to brace the people who cant stand anime with no Japanese characters

It was ok but could of been so much better cause it did have a good story

My favorite anime of all time. Great setting, great plot, great character. Not a big fan of the translations but the anime itself is a 5/5 for sure
