Celtic Peacock Hair Clip, Hand Crafted Metal Barrette Made in the USA with a Medium 70mm by Oberon Design

Who knew there were quality differences to a clip barrette beyond - for kids; for thin hair; for thick hair; or so cheap it'll fall apart because you touched it? Not I! This barrette is beautiful and, while it was smaller than I was anticipating (not smaller than the description, just smaller than what I was envisioning), it is doing an amazing job with my medium/long length thicker hair. I've experimented wearing it only holding part of my hair back, in a twist, and as a pony tail and the barrette did not fall out or pull my hair at all for the whole day. I was concerned when I ordered that the clip may be too heavy, but it isn't - it is sturdy. The clip didn't do that thing where it pulls out a couple of strands of hair when you try to take the barrette out at the end of the day, either. I can't believe I spent nearly $17 on a barrette, nor can I believe that I am so very thrilled that I am writing a review on it. I have two more in my cart and would like to try a different style this company makes. It turns out that quality does matter in something as simple as a barrette - and it's beautiful, too. What more can you say!

I was so pleasantly surprised by the way my hair clip arrived - or more specifically, its packaging. It was inside a padded jewelry box, the box wrapped in plastic, labeled with a beautiful thank you sticker. Inside was the hair clip on a sturdy cardstock, plus another thank you in the form of a card with instructions on how to contact the company if needed. It really showed the care Oberon Design puts into their products. In this age of high production and disconnect, the simple gesture of a thank you was immensely appreciated. Regarding the hair clip itself, it is great quality but too small to hold all of my thick hair. So, I will use it to hold back a portion (which thankfully is how I usually style my hair). Thank you Oberon Design for not only a great product, but delivering it with pride.

I am impressed with the beautiful packaging! True high class workmanship pointing to my product found on amazon.com shopping. The packaging I am keeping!Ah! Seeing my Oberon barrette was a fantastic feeling! It is worth the cost. Fine craftsmanship. I have it pulling my hair out of my eyes right now. Very good! What is so marvelous for this barrette is the artistic work. I already have other barrettes chosen to purchase in the future in my wish list on amazon.com with Oberon. They are worth it.The sun charm was a pleasant surprise in the box with the barrette to thank me for my first purchase. This company goes beyond customer satisfaction in all that they offer and present. Bravo! What a treasure find company on amazon!I will be looking for more of their products in the future. I liked everything about this barrette. It fits my hair perfectly and is beautiful. But what really impressed me was their gift and presentation. This is a small homegrown American business that takes such pride in their handcrafted product. For $16 you not only get a beautiful barrette but a darling charm with a sweet message AND it is in a gift box with their logo on it. The purchase was way more than I expected. It is so refreshing to see people take such pride in their work. We owned our own business so I really appreciate the behond expected surprise. Thank you very much to all of you at Oberon Design. I do not usually write a review and I did not get a free barrette to write this. But I will buy from this company again. God Bless

Even though the barrette is fairly heavy, the clip holds in my fine, thin hair. Many clips this size will not stay in my hair, so I am particularly happy with this one. And it is a lovely design in a shiny gunmetal color.

I deliberated between the large and medium barrette. Both equally stunning! After reading the good reviews I ordered the medium as my hair is medium thick. It arrived nicely packaged with a charm, a nice touch! Perfect size and weight that looks lovely on my shoulder length grey hair when pulled back. Just what I was looking for and glad to find it on Amazon. It will be used a lot during our hot Florida summer months. Beautiful craftsmanship and excellent quality. As far as the price, it’s well worth it and would definitely buy again from Oberon.

I give this 4 stars for design, this is a very beautiful piece with a wee bit of weight to it. That's the pros.The con unfortunately is that with my hair being very fine will not hold it in a ponytail, so I will need to return it.

It's a beautiful, well-made barrette. I got the Celtic peacock and I worried needlessly that it would be too large or slip out of my hair. It works perfectly in my medium-fine hair. I use it to clip back just my face-framing hair (sides of face), so it doesn't have to hold a ton of hair or ponytail to be effective. Very versatile and beautiful!

This is my third clip by this company. They are all beautiful, well made and hold my very fine hair all day. They are a little more expensive than others but well worth the extra. This time they included a small charm as a gift with the clip - a nice touch which has not influenced my rating as I love the clip. The butterfly clip they also sell whilst narrow also holds my hair well and looks lovely. I don't think this will be my last purchase.

This clip is gorgeous and strong enough to keep my thick hair contained. This is a medium size clip - will get a large one next.The Celtic peacock design is beautifully crafted and looks stunning. Well worth the cost for an unusual clip that will last. This would make a great gift as it comes beautifully wrapped in a presentation box.

Pretty, strong and exactly what I need to keep my hair in place. The guarantee to replace the clip if it ever break is also a winner. Expensive but a super bit of kit.
