    The best so far...

*by E***H on Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on March 18, 2015*

We have been through many swaddle blankets to try and keep baby asleep at night....tried Aden and Anais, Halo, Miracle Blanket...didn't try the ones that are more restraining like Woombie, personal preference. I'll list points on all of these and the Summer Infant SwaddleMe last, which is the winner so far. With Aden and Anais, the material was awesome but baby would manage to get out every time no matter how tightly swaddled. With the Miracle Blanket, it is a very effective swaddle but we found too much rolling and tucking is involved and once swaddled there's no room for movement...if swaddled right before bedtime, he'd cry because he wanted his arms free. If we waited until he's sleepy or fell asleep, no matter how gently we tried to wrap him in it he'd wake up.Do love the Halo sleep sacks that are sleeveless, because baby doesn't get overheated and has plenty of room for leg movement. We put him in a Gerber nightie under it, the ones with mitten cuffs to keep his arms and hands warm, and prevent him from scratching himself. Problem is since the sack doesn't restrain the arms, if he's not tuckered out and ready for a deep sleep he'll wake himself up from his own hand and arm movements. So these are used for those for nights he's tired and won't be antsy. Also love the Halo swaddle blankets. They're like the sleep sack except they have two flaps with velcro so you have the choice to swaddle or keep the arms out (though the velcro can be loud). Loved these but something that really bothered us was the zipper...the metal part near the head isn't covered, and he keeps getting in his mouth. If they just fixed that by putting a small snap button flap to cover it like you see on sleep and play suits, it would be the winner for us but haven't seen that feature yet unless there's a different "model" that we don't know of. (Update a few years later...it is now covered with a triangular pocket of cloth!)With the Summer Infant SwaddleMe, there is no metal. Since baby doesn't like being swaddled, I wait till he's asleep. The blanket is already laid out and open in his sleeper, flaps open and temporarily held down in place by two small pillows. Once he's asleep, I gently lay him down on the open blanket, tuck him into the bottom flap, remove the pillows and wrap him up. The only thing to be careful of is the velcro on the bottom flap...make sure it isn't stuck together because if you have to separate it once baby is asleep he may wake up. From the POV of comfort of material and swaddling to help keep baby asleep, these are the current winner for us.

    Great Swaddle for the Money!

*by T***A on Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on November 6, 2017*

We have tried many different swaddles, and even a different brand of the same type of swaddle(shower gift) but none have done the job like this one! My baby old is a mover and can easily get himself worked into a state with his flailing arms and legs. Wrapping him in the original swaddle me calms him right down and helps him to sleep peacefully. The fabric isn’t super thick which is nice because I don’t have to undress him to swaddle him or worry about him overheating. Other brands of the same style we found the fabric stretched out and so the swaddle could not be as tight as he needed it to be. We also tried some of the zip up swaddles, but found them too tight and difficult to work onto a seriously squirming infant. I would always end up getting his little sleeve caught in the zipper. The only downside to this product is that the noise of the Velcro could startle a more sensitive baby, or wake them when you open it, so it’s best to get it right the first time. It’s also best to have the swaddle laid out and waiting for you, so you don’t have to try and lay it out one handed. We always keep one laid out in his crib and his pack n play.

    Love these swaddlers

*by J***O on Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on August 10, 2015*

When my daughter outgrew her size small swaddlers at around 3 months old, I tried to break her of the swaddle upon recommendation from family, saying she'd never learn to sleep on her own. Well it only took two sleepless nights filled with flailing arms, scratched faces, and crying before I caved and bought these large ones. Some babies just love being swaddled, and there's nothing wrong with extended swaddling for those children who need it.SwaddleMe swaddlers are the best we tried, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them for any baby who struggles with startle reflex or eczema. The fabric is lightweight and breathable, perfect for over pajamas in the winter or a thin onesie in summer. The velcro kept her nice and snug, where blankets gradually loosen over the course of the night, and I never had to worry about her hips being too tight. When she got a little stronger, she did manage to break one arm out occasionally, but the velcro was still secure and there was no suffocation risk like there could be with blankets. It is important to stop using the swaddler once the baby can roll over, and there are big warnings of this on the label, however I personally found that my daughter was ready to sleep unsecured by that point anyway. Some babies don't want to be swaddled, but if yours does, SwaddleMe is a great product at a fraction of the price of competitors.
