Definitely nice to have in your collection and a nice design concept. Nonetheless, the product quality is not exactly ideal - the wooden box is actually a cardboard covered in a sticker and the slots for the disc are of very cheap plastic. The art book is pretty interesting though, well designed and of good quality.Video and audio quality are OK - often you can see halos of pixel around lamps in dark scenes and sound can get distorted, but overall both are sharp and detailed.I enjoyed season 1 to 7 but season 8 ruins the whole show for me. Character change behaviour, random things happen just to bring character from situation A to situation B, and so on. Real shame!Finally, please be aware that if you purchase the German version, you will get the German version: all information on the packaging and on the season sleeves are in German - BUT the discs are the same through all editions and include the original language.

For anyone wodering this German box set of Dexter does include English as an option.Great set with lots of bonus footage! My only gripe is that there are too many discs for a blu ray collection. They could easily fit more episodes per disc!

Very happy with the boxset considering how they never put one out in the UK apart from that bloodslide collection that sold for £200 and is long out of print. Have no idea if they’ll bother reissuing Dexter because of the New Blood revival but kind of doubt it. At £44 this was a steal - compared to tracking down the out of print single season releases that were sold in the UK some of which are quite pricey like season 3 plus the discs are new and not potentially scratched. The box is thin cardboard with a nice design. Inside are 2 big bluray boxes which house seasons 1-4 and 5-8. In each set only 1 disc overlaps another and which is better than some other sets which are a nightmare to remove and fear of snapping them. When putting in the disc the menu is automatically highlighting the English audio so you don’t need to mess around. Watched episode 1 again after 10 years and it looked great. Viva Miami

Beware,despite reviews to the contrary this is series 1 only of Dexter (and a very overpriced series of foreign discs at that).Having tried to return it to music magpie unsuccessfully, I have given up and decided to warn others of the sloppy reviews for this product.Series 8 of this show was originally last shown in 2013, so £30 for one series of a really old show is something of a rip off.Having left feedback to both music magpie and Amazon and had no word from either I can only conclude that no one is interested.Last time I buy from music magpie that's for sure.

This box set will not disappoint. If you are a fan of crime shows this will be right up your street. We rarely get to see through the eyes of the killer in crime shows, with Dexter, we do.Based on the fantastic books by Jeff Lindsay (just type in Dexter Jeff Lindsay they will come up) it is a gripping and darkly humorous series with twists and surprises. Like the books, we hear a lot of what is being said inside Dexter's head, we hear a lot of his thoughts all the way through, some find this strange, but I believe it makes us feel closer to our "hero" - we are literally inside his head.I have watched all 8 seasons, but bought this box set to watch it all over again - it never gets old. It looks timeless and thats why it works. There's always something you missed the first time around, with this box set you can make sure you notice them all!I'd recommend this to anyone over 18 obviously (rated 18) who is a fan of crime shows, but ones with a darker twist.

I was looking for a new TV series to watch after finishing watching the Breaking Bad box set. Dexter was rated very highly on IMDB so based on that I bought the box set.I am so glad I bought this. The script is wonderfully written and the actors are excellent. I am half way through - just finished Season 4 last night and I am totally hooked. One of the things I particularly like is that they are not afraid to kill people off occasionally which means you never know what to expect.If you are of a squeamish nature you might want to avoid this as there are some episodes where there is a lot of blood. The blood is not used gratuitously - it is integral to the story - but I thought I should warn people.I would highly recomend this box set to people.

Ever since the limited edition collectors Blu ray set vanished from shelves I have wanted to see Dexter. I can confirm that this German release has full English dialog and subtitles and is UK compatible region B. As to the show itself, I'm told it is well worth watching, but I have managed to avoid spoilers for all these years so I cannot comment on the plot.
