In dark gray this is not a “look at me” item. Much safer than a hook.
Shipping was fast and the product was well packed. Install requires a pair of snap ring pliers. If you don’t have a good set of snap ring pliers, or if you’re not familiar with just how far a snap ring can fly, I’d recommend getting help with the installation as there is not a second snap ring in the package. I paired mine with a Warn Epic Shackle.

A great alternative to the winch hook -- and looks awesome
Replaced our winch hook with this shackle mount because we were tired of hearing clanking as we drove along. We figured we could just use a d-ring to reintall the hook when needed. This looks unique and mean on the front of the vehicle. It's a bit pricey, but this is what the pros use on the trail.

Wish it was cheaper, but...
Very lightweight. Pleased with purchase, but I really wish it was cheaper. I know some have reviewed this and said their D-ring does not fit. A 3/4" will. Brands I have fitted on it is ARB and Tractor Supply. Smittybilt will not fit it (which seems to be the popular choice). Really the only issue I have is the pin is only held in by a small snap ring which could lead to it being stolen. The main reason for purchase was to get my synthetic line out of the sun and from hooking the clevis to the bumper. And I do not like sucking the thimble/clevis all the way to the fairlead. I find that asinine.
