It really can stop moderate wind
I have four cats, two dogs and every once in a while squirrel, rabbit, or snake. Of course not all of those belong to me. I live in a very old house the odd size doors. A few years ago we decided not to replace the screen door after some damage. For quite some time we thought about putting in a dog door. For dogs and cats. But my brother-in-law introduced us to these mesh screens that were held together by magnets. We have some of those made from the same company and they were fantastic. We have to replace him about once a year. The downside of course they don't stop the wind. By the backside of my house faces west so we always have weather coming that direction. In any case for the winter we decided to use these opaque plastic doors with the same kind of magnets. We were pleasantly surprised. Not only that magnets much stronger but the material actually stops the wind. Light to moderate winds are no match for this door. Secondly if you buy it just a little long the win actually's causes a seal of of sorts to the bottom of the door and keeps the wind from slipping in and underneath. What will not stop from slipping underneath, our squirrels, rabbits, and snakes. Does it really matter because he did with the door would stop the one or two a year that slips in it wouldn't stop my cats from bringing them in.In case I write this up for only because on a regular size door the top quarter is a little tight and normal size adult has to terminal sideways to get the shoulders through. Same problem we had with the mesh and any other doors we had purchased.Pros:thick enough to stop the windstrong magnetsgreat in light to moderate whengood sealgood privacyworks in cold weathersuper strong adhesive on the VelcroCons:top too tightbeing opaque sometimes is not a pluswhile installation seems to be a no-brainer instructions should be includedIf you found this helpful please clink the Helpful button

It was pretty mild when my husband installed in at the beginning ...
I can't believe I have only had this up for a month. I live in VA Beach, where the weather is mild most of the time. Yes, we have our days where it is below freezing, but usually after 3 or 4 days of cold, it warms up again to the 40s or 50s. I can remember a recent Christmas where it was 65+ degrees. Anyway, our house has a non-heated or fooled section that is an addition. It is basically the temperature of the outdoors. The addition is separated from the dining room via double French doors. One door got broken. We were advised that it would cost $800 to replace it to match the existing door. We decided to look for a less expensive temporary solution. I came across this Magnetic Thermal Insulated Door Curtain accidentally while searching for a different item on Amazon. I decided to try it out.It was pretty mild when my husband installed in at the beginning of December, but there was definitely a noticeable temperature difference standing on either side of the curtain. My friend and I agree that it felt like somewhere between a 10 to 15 degree difference. Now we are at the beginning of January in a deep freeze. For over 7 days now, it has been truly cold, with actual temperatures in the teens and feels like temperatures in the single digits. This thermal curtain has saved us. The addition section still feels like the outside. We could feel totally safe keeping our milk and frozen chicken nuggets out there. Our dining room is a normal temperature. It is not 100%. My desk where I work is right next to the curtain, and it does feel a little cooler right here, but it doesn't feel like a draft. This is a high traffic area, as it leads to extra storage and the laundry room. My husband nailed the top and the sides because he didn't trust the velcro to be durable with the kids taking their bikes through frequently. I think I could improve the results even more by adding some velcro to my door jam to attach the velcro that is already on the curtain to, but I haven't done that yet. The magnets do not close automatically, but my previous door didn't close automatically either. It is well worth it to put in the extra effort to close the door to stay warm in this weather. Besides, I think the reason it does not close automatically is that the curtain drags the ground. This provides full protection at the bottom, but does not allow the curtain to swing as freely as it cold. I would pay double the price, and still recommend it to everyone.I am a normal person without any affiliation with Amazon or this product. My review represents my true feelings about this product.

Surprising insulation
I have two large Irish Wolfhounds which any doggie door would be human size, so I thought I'd try this and am very glad I did. I live in Florida and it keeps the temp in the kitchen at the same temp as the rest if the house. The dogs go in and out and it closes right behind them. I included a photo with my thermometer showing the outside and inside temp in the kitchen with the door open and screen on. It's the same temp as the rest of the house.

This really works.
I rent an old house. I live in the upstairs portion. In order to get to my area I have to go up a set of stair that are inside. There are no doors preventing my drafty front door from keeping the hot humid air out of the areas I use. This product sets up in fifteen minutes. Very easy. Not even ten minutes and you can feel the difference. This product works.NOTE: WHEN APPLYING THE STICKY SIDE YOU WILL WANT TO ANGLE THE MIDDLE OF THE TOP STRIP A LITTLE HIGHER THAN THE TOP STRIP SIDES THAT WAY THE DOOR ALWAYS CLOSES ON ITS OWN!!

Using as summer pet door
I have purchased this product multiple times. It does have a life expectancy when using with three large dogs and exposed to the elements thus I replace annually. The thick vinyl construct keeps the AC in and cold out. The velcro allows it to be attached to the brick wall of my door opening surprising firmly. 5 Stars and worth every cent in cost savings

Magnets are weak-sauce
Magnets are so weak that a gentle whisper in the direction of this thermal blanket sends it wide open. Seeing as how I got this to keep the cool air in while I was running my airconditioner in the bedroom, it is totally useless for the job. A harsh shout would do a better job of insulating my door than this thing. On top of the chump magnets one side is longer than the other, so when they do manage to gingerly brush fingertips in an attempt to cling together, they aren't lined up enough to get more than 50% contact on each other.

This is much more than what I expected. The magnets are good..it keeps the bugs from coming in the house. And now my dogs can go in and out all day. My dogs and I are super happy.
