This is an absolutely gorgeous collection of poems; the imagery is astounding, brilliant, sometimes heartbreaking, sometimes terrifying, sometimes soothing. I have read it no less than 20 times, and each time I discover more and more about each poem, about myself, about the author. The poems are unforgettable and superb, and I say this being someone who shuns hyperbole. I am exaggerating not one bit in saying this is one of the best collections of poetry I have ever read. Absolute art. I've recommended Shanahan's book to many friends who have been similarly impressed. It's my go-to literary gift for people who enjoy poetry, and it's been an absolute hit. You would be remiss not to read this collection; just writing this review I already feel so excited to read Into Each Room [...] again, and I cannot wait to see what the future brings for this amazing, young, refined, and exceedingly talented poet.

This is a raw and vulnerable collection from an incredible poet. Written in beautiful language that exposes wounds and shows them in a process of healing. Poems of passion and wonder in world that often tries to smother both.
