This is excellent if you want to color code your lines so you can tell which line is which just by color. Also, life gets a little boring when all you have is blue line holders. Hook Bar For Your Fly There is a plastic bar to hook your fly on and keeps your fly in the center of the spool protected from getting matted in storage so your fly does not get a bad hair day, like it will get with many other tenkara line holders on the market. Line Locking Tabs The spool has 8 tabs around the front rim that you can secure your line through with easy, plus you get the slits in the center foam to keep it extra secure if wanted. These tabs also give this spool an awesome look. 3 Thicknesses To Choose From Regular (11mm), Thin (9mm COMING SOON), Extra Thin (7mm). Work well. I use them to hold a nymphing or dry fly rig or even just a dropper so I can change out easily at the loop so having to tie up everything from scratch. Line and fly stay on pretty good. Super light weight.

Nice to have, decent price. I like these little foam ones. They can get a bit damaged with time and use, but I like that they float, are soft and light, and easy to use. I slip them into a ziplock bag and into my fishing pack and it works nicely. got this to pre-tie a bunch of leaders for fishing in Montana. Glad I did! Was nice to have some premade after I got broke off a few times.
