I was absolutely delighted with the power of this vacuum. The suction power was awesome. But like many other users, I have been extremely disappointed quickly when the motor stops working. My first unit stopped working after 12 hours of use across 8 weeks. It just simply fails to start the motor up. I submitted a warranty claim to Amazon and got a replacement unit for free. It took 4 weeks to arrive. Just 3 days later after very light (3-4 hours) use it died on me again. Very frustrating!!! I'm about to send it back again. I was only using it for extracting dry sawdust, nothing heavy. I tested both units with a Fluke VoltAlert metre and confirmed power is flowing to the unit, through the switch (when on). I can even plug in a tool to the units power outlet and it powers on fine. Just no motor. Absolutely useless. Other than that I would also comment that the base is not weighted in any way. It's just light plastic moulding. It should be weighted to stop the unit from tipping over when pulled by the hose. As soon as the bag fills up 20% with some materials, this issue goes away (from the weight of the collected materials)

Vacmaster M 38L - It's excellent, with the internal bag as well as the filter it doesn't get clogged like my previous VAX and it well built, the important bits are all metal and everything is really robust. The auto suction is great, plug the saw/sander into the socket on the front and it senses when you've triggered the saw/sander and turns itself on. Runs on for a short period when you stop to clear the hose. Overall fantastic piece of kit.

Fine as long as it works but it gave up after 1 year and 3 months of light use when I tried to use the power take-off with an 800w tool ( had not used it previously ). Cleva do not ship to Ireland so would not provide any replacement parts. Support even refused to give any troubleshooting advice until I had a back and forth with them for several emails. A local repair shop identified the board as being the problem but the parts are impossible to get. Avoid and go for a better known brand or at least one that provides support

I like everything about this hoover. It doesn't lose suction even when the bag is full and it has a very long lead. It is great value for money.

Having read the other reviews before buying, I was certainly optimistic that the vacuum would be ok for DIY use. Having received it and tried it out, I’m over the moon! First job was to sand down a particularly problematic and badly plastered wall in my house. I have a Dewalt random orbital sander but previous attempts to sand this wall resulted in clouds of dust being thrown across the room. I tried the Dewalt XR vacuum and a Titan shop vac but neither could contain the dust. The Vacmaster kept the air almost totally dust free! Its bags are extremely large so should last a fair while, even on large DIY projects and you get 4 bags with the vacuum. Really pleased with the purchase - I can see it being used for every job ahead.

Stopped working properly after using it less than 10 times
