I grew tired of carrying my large two-step folding step stool up and down the stairs every time I needed to reach something in a high cabinet, or change a light bulb in a ceiling fixture. This little step stool fits in the tight 3" gap between the refrigerator and the wall, so I can leave it upstairs and grab it when I need it.The stool folds out simply, and you just have to make sure to guide the plastic bits together so it's rigid; otherwise, it's not very stable. It's easy enough an older toddler can use it pretty well. Folding it up is even easier than unfolding it.The plastic has little ridges all over it, so it provides a solid grip on any kind of shoes or sandals. It feels like it could hold up to 200-250 lbs., but I would be wary of holding something very heavy while standing on the stool. I'll use my heavy-duty ladder for that!Recommended for the convenience--it's not very high, so you won't use it for things like painting or fixing light fixtures. But for a quick job where you need to get a foot or so higher, it's perfect.

Great heavy duty stool.

I already had one of these step stools that I use to reach the higher cabinets in my kitchen. When folded, it fits unnoticed in the small space beside my refrigerator. I have used it for over 2 years and have always felt secure on it. I decided that I needed a second one to put in my upstairs closet to use to reach a high shelf. I really like how small it folds, how easy it is to open and close, and how sturdy it is when I am standing on it. Also, when closed, the little carrying handle is an added bonus. It also makes a great seat for my little grandson. I could easily see myself getting buying another for outside.

We had this step stool for about 10 years until someone didn't open it right and it broke. This thing is small, strong, durable and holds up to 300 pounds. You can't tell from the photos, but the top is textured, so it is not slippery. Best of all it folds into less than 2 inches wide, which is fairly remarkable. We stick it between the wall and our refrigerator, so it is hidden, but always handy for us when we need a little extra height to reach that top shelf in the kitchen cabinets.Finally, remarkable as it is, this is made in the USA, and is one of the few products that doesn't really have a big (if any) price premium for being made in this country. The quality of this step stool is worlds better than the similar step stools that I have seen that cost only about the same (or a dollar or two less) but are made overseas.Hope this review helps you with your shopping decision.

I bought this stool as a seat while giving baby a bath and, eventually, as a step stool for kids. It works wonderfully -- easy to set up and collapses to take up little space. It's very sturdy and the plastic is thick and strong. All the negative reviews about broken stools must have received a defective one. I did a lot of review reading before buying this stool and I'm glad I picked this one. Take negative reviews with a grain of salt.

I've been using one of these stools for many years and needed a couple more to spread around the house and garage and shop. Based on my long experience with my first one It was a "no brainer" for me to purchase a couple more. Rated to 300 lbs and very sturdy and stable.

This is the 4th one of these EZ Fold step stools I have bought - for different areas. They are lightweight and sturdy. The stool is wide enough that I feel secure. Most of the time I only need one extra step to reach something high. This is perfect - and it folds neatly out of the way.
