Invaluable for a small start-up nonprofit
After a fair amount of research, I decided that using QuickBooks myself would be the most sensible "start up" strategy for my startup nonprofit (which in all likelihood will never get very large.) I got QuickBooks Premier Editions 2020/1 user license including the Nonprofit Edition for $60 from TechSoup, a useful resource in itself. Although I have an extensive financial background it's been many a decade since I was responsible for basic bookkeeping. This book has been an invaluable resource. It's clearly written and well-ordered. Unlike many books geared toward small nonprofits, the author's purpose is definitely to provide the help you need, not make a thinly-veiled pitch at selling her own services. I mastered the basics enough to get our 2019 tax reports done and have a complete set of financial statements for the year. Our goal is going to be "total transparency" for financial records and I now have them ready to go for whoever asks.

Invaluable guide to keeping the books at church or non-profit.
This book is a helpful source to using QuickBooks to keep the books and prepare financials for churches and other non-profit organizations. You don’t have to be a CPA or even taken accounting classes. Just read the book and follow along! It’s as if the author is right on your shoulder giving you easy step-by-step instructions from start to finish. This is a must have read for anyone keeping the books at a church or non-profit!

Excellent Book specific to the subject of Churches/Non-profits
This book directly addresses those topics that are unique to the Non-Profit space. It helps those who know little of accounting to make informed and knowledgeable decisions on how to implement Quickbooks to properly manage no-profit finances. If one decides to take on accounting, it will help direct priorities and provides very detailed step-by-step. This could save thousands in accounting/book keeper costs for the small non-profit

Best one by far
Have read multiple other books on this subject. This one, by far, is the best for small non profits. Explains how to work with a blended approach to fund accounting and traditional accounting.

Best book for Churches
I work for a church & 2 other non-profits in town & have for a long time. Bought this on a whim & even learned some new things that Quickbooks can do. Plenty of illustrations, plenty of good directions and one of the better Quickbooks books out there. Bought a non-profit Quickbooks years ago & someone walked off with it so I really needed one. Buy it, this author is really good & she will answer questions on her website!

A Lifesaver!
Not an accountant but somehow became responsible for our nonprofit organization's books! Lisa's QuickBooks for Nonprofits and Churches provided step-by-step guidelines that got us started with confidence. When we ran into a problem and spent an hour and a half with Intuit help desk to no avail, Lisa solved the issue immediately. She knew exactly what to ask about the situation and figured it out instantly. So, we'll be using QuickBooks instead of going back to Excel - and referencing her publications as needed. Thanks, Lisa!

Okay
Book was okay but didn’t quite touch on needs that I needed it for.

In need of rewriting and reprinting
I really wanted this book to work -- but the writing is confused and confusing. Every page of my copy is covered in notes and questions showing how bewildered I found the 'explanations.' E.g. "Custom Fields are available for items, but not necessary. To set them up..." (p. 55) but you are not told why you would want to set them up, what purpose they serve. Info you need in chapter X is only told to you in a later chapter, and that wouldn't be terrible insofar as the author tells you to go read that later chapter, except that the chapter number is wrong. And the quality of the printing is poor -- screen shots (extremely necessary if this is your first experience with QB) are very pale and, in some instances, almost illegible.I'm still searching for a QB manual for someone who understands non-profit finance, but is not an experienced bookkeeper.
