Great product
Excellent product. My ps4 is about first generation so the remote works. It is true that you have to loose a little both screws from the top to avoid share and options to keep pressed. Everybody loves it, it looks and feel amazing. Take care from scratch, picture will not last if you don't take care of it as it is printed on plastic.

Shell Is Awesome, Buttons Are A Little Tight.
First off, let me just specify that you do need to be using an original model PS4 controller for this shell to fit. The circuit board in the newer controllers is shaped very differently from the board in the original controllers and you would need to be really good at small modifications to make this fit a new controller. That being said, it is a really cool shell. The wood grain look is quite awesome and even though it's probably made with a cheaper plastic than the original controller shell, I still think it feels pretty sturdy. Time will tell if the paint wears over time and significant usage, but as it stands, it feels very well made. The reason I gave it 4 stars- the included replacement buttons. I was unable to use most of them because they were too tight and had no give. Now, for the face buttons, that's fine as i prefer to leave the standard square, triangle, circle and X buttons- partially because I think it looks cool and partially because I plan on letting this be my 'guest' controller and not everyone has spent their entire childhoods playing videogames and making button layouts second nature instead of going outside and talking to people . . . like me . . . so it's nice for them to be able to see those buttons. Now, I DID want to change out the 'share' and 'option' buttons as well as the shoulder and trigger buttons. The 'share' and 'option' buttons absolutely did not budge . . . I had no choice but to use the originals. The shoulder buttons did not sit well when I tried to put the faceplate back on, so I had to keep the originals there as well. The trigger buttons did swap out fine (but PLEASE be careful changing those . . . I lost the tiny spring from one of them because it was so freaking small . . . i was able to replace it with one from an old, busted PS3 controller, but that's beside the point). The other thing to keep in mind, and the other reason I couldn't give this more than 4 stars, is that the shell does not fit together as perfectly as the original shell. There are a few small spots where you can see that the seam shows a little of the white internal paint. Now, these are very small spots and you'd probably need to look closely to find them, but once you see them they are fairly noticeable. I will say that when I showed the finished product to my wife, she did not see the seams on initial inspection, so I do chalk a little of that up to me having done the work myself and being more aware of the flaws. I might even try to match the color and do a tiny bit of touch up painting to conceal that. All in all . . . it's a REALLY cool shell and definitely worth getting if you want to upgrade your old PS4 controller(s).

a bit of a project not for unskilled buyers
This product looks great feels fine in handsAnd is with good patients possible to put a newer model a Ps4 internals ...that being saidYou will absolutely need to cut down some of the internal pieces mainly the piece that holds the main board to the entire shell because it's on the wrong sideIf you want the entire shell to fit you will also need to either putty or tape the light in place because there is no internal spots to secure it to the shellDon't bother with the L1 or R1 they aren't for newer model controllers eitherAll in all if you want it bad enough you will need to be creative and have patience

Did not fit my CUH-ZCT1 internals
Didn't fit and it wasn't clear in the description that it wouldn't fit. If you're making a product that only fits 1 rev of a controller, it should be prominently noted.

works great with my 2nd gen controller
Definitely for first gen controllers. That being said, works great with my 2nd gen controller. I simply left the only part that didn't fit, out of the controller. Looks sick as hell, I'm beyond excited & satisfied.

Note: Only Fits Older PS4 Controller Models, But Quality Hydro-Dip
The biggest key here is that this will only fit the guts of older PS4 controllers and there is no indication of this on the item description. Otherwise, the hydro-dip is awesome and for the price it's a great deal given what you get. I had to do a lot of modification to get this to fit, which is okay given the price. The provided buttons all fit the front shell (not the originals), and the front shell is partially compatible with the newer model PS4 controller back shell. To get the hardware to fit in the front shell, you are going to have to cut off and grind away the mounting peg on the middle of the shell - it is on the wrong side. A pair of wire cutters and a Dremel tool did the job just fine, and the hardware fits good enough in the shell you don't need to screw the circuit board to that peg anyways. The biggest downside is that the back shell is completely incompatible with newer PS4 models, which is disappointing. I'm sure you can get it to work if you are brave and patient enough, but I was not.

Amazing but had some problems
I purchased this shell and parts because I had a broken thumb stick and I decided that I might as well redo the whole controller while im at it. This controller looks amazing. I did however have a few problems building it. I think i had a different version of the PS4 controller then I thought. The LED light bar chip had to be mounted a little differently and also the share and option buttons did not fit. I did have to file down those holes and buttons which is why im giving it 4 Stars instead of 5. I ended up not using the D-Pad XO[] and triangle buttons because I didnt want them to blend so much.
