Worth It.
I searched high and low for the perfect electric kettle. My criteria were 'Made in the USA' and 'as little plastic as possible'. Unfortunately, I found that getting both was impossible. I have an InstantPot which I use all the top and enjoy the quality, durability, and ease of use. I stumbled upon this by chance and gave it a shot. Totally worth it. There isn't a lot of excess packaging and setup/use is so easy. Plug the base in, fill the kettle with water, put the top on, set the kettle on the base, press power, and wait. It heats FAST. The initial full kettle [1.5L] heat up was five minutes or less. I was surprised. I use this daily for my french press coffee [the hold temperature feature allows me to BLOOM my coffee now] and also for my cream of rice hot cereal. Kettle design allows me to pour perfectly and under control.

Not great for a $99 kettle!
Jan 2021 UPDATE: It’s been a few months and the kettle still works well. I’m going to go ahead and up a star because it had grown on me. It looks fantastic and it’s well made.I am an instant pot fan so when my kettle broke, I had to get an instant pot zen kettle to go with my Duo Crisp, Duo and Ace blender. The design of the kettle is the signature Instant Pot black and stainless steel design and they all look good on my countertop. However if I had to rate this product it gets a B- which is not great as my other Instant items are A+ items. As a Brit who grew up with electric kettles in every corner, $99 for a kettle is very expensive. Instant pot are the only brand that can get me to pay that, and for that price point I expect perfection and features.I didn’t get that. The pot heats up to about 212. Sometimes 210 and then the keep warm setting keeps it somewhere around the 200-212 mark. Sometimes dropping below 200. These are huge variables for an avid tea drinker and a $99 kettle. The fact that the only feature is keep warm and cool touch is disappointing. Every other feature is standard in kettles half the price of this one. This should have had a timer, this should have had precision, this should have had smart technology with an app to go with it.Again a lot of this hinges on the fact it’s a $99 kettle. The kettle itself has worked well for me. I do enjoy the cool touch and I wasn’t sure about the handle at first but it’s fine.

I use this kettle ALL day long and love it!
I love that it heats water quickly and that even without the keep warm turned on that water will stay warm longer. I'm one of those people that enjoy drinking warm/hot water and this kettle keeps me happy. Just don't fill beyond the max fill line that is on the inside of the kettle. Then the steam starts pushing up and dripping out along the top of the black edge. Stay below that line and all is good.

Did I get the kettle with ALL the defects or is this kettle just garbage?
I love the way the kettle looks and it feels sturdy, sadly these are the only two positive things I can say about this kettle. I thought this company made good products. First the product is named "cool touch". Not the kettle I got, 195F water inside, 195F exterior. I set the kettle to 205F and it would never reach 205F(it would peak at 203F) and never turn itself off like it's supposed to, it would just boil the water forever until I shut it off. I'm sure if I let it the kettle would have boiled dry. The only way it would turn off on it's own is if I set the temperature to 195F or lower. The water always had a odd chemical taste, even after daily use for over two weeks. The last straw was when I looked in the kettle today and saw a white substance along the bottom and walls of the kettle. This is not mineral build-up, I've only used water from my Brita pitcher that has a two month old long-last filter in it. Only thing I can guess is the insulation was somehow leeching into the water.I've returned this kettle for a refund. I'll never buy another one.

Probably as good or better options at this price point.
Not as good as their pressure cookers. The controls are not very intuitive to start. For the keep warm feature it would be nice to have it either remember the last setting or or display it. I flip between a few kinds of tea every day so this is not ideal. Sometimes, with a max payload of 1.5L, the fast boil hangs at 98C and never "finishes" boiling despite that you can hear and feel a rolling boil inside. Last mildly annoying thing is the amount of water that drains from the vent mechanism on the lid on removal. You learn to deal with it, but it can be non-trivial at times and quite hot depending on how recently you warmed a pot. Overall a very good, but not great product.

Temperature inexact, base LED display spotty
The temperature control is not exact, and it isn’t the most user friendly device I’ve owned. Be prepared to keep the manual nearby for reference until you’ve used it for a while. The base on my device is wobbly as well, and the LED display cuts in and out a lot during use.

Kettle is Mama’s best friend
As a new Mama this has been perfect for being able to keep the water in the kettle warm and go back for multiple refills of tea. Having the 4 hour warmer is also perfect because it keeps the water warm between feedings and I can use the water to warm my baby’s bottle. I can also use the heated water to make up formula for my son. This kettle has been a wonderful life saver and I love it!

Amazing tea kettle
OK, $100 for a tea kettle seemed high, but I am a big tea drinker. I have had this thing a couple days now and must say it's well worth the price. Boils water very fast, keeps it hot for hours, and quiet. I have tea-ready boiling water sitting all day to use as required.
