iScholar Grade 2 Primary Composition Book, 7.5 x 9.75 Inches, 80 Sheets, Skip Line Ruling, Red Marble (10029)

It is difficult to find exactly the right size skip line ruling to teach CURSIVE handwriting to children, probably because schools do not teach this any more. However, I do. This notebook is exactly what I was looking for!

I like this book because the lines are large enough for them to practice writing neat and straight, but not overly large that it takes them a long time to complete a sentence.The standard size ruling is just too small for 1st graders learning how to write their manuscript letters. Kids that age need more room to practice their fine motor skills. The dashed line in the middle is a good guide/reminder for them how to size their lower-case letters versus upper-case letters.The only drawback is cover. It is not hard enough. But I make sure my daughter is always working on a flat, hard surface for proper support.Good price and good product. Will purchase more when we finish up with our supply!

Of all the lined paper and composition books, I like this one because it is perfect for the younger children. I have never been a fan of the preschool or kindergarten size lined paper, but understand the need for them to start out this big. I believe by first grade, this width is perfect through fourth grade.

Great and useful notebook for my son who is learning to write and practice his spelling words.

My granddaughter is going to start at a private school next year, 6th grade and since public schools really no longer teach cursive, she has to catch up. This will help greatly.

The only reason I didn't give it a 5 stars is because the pages are a little thin/light, but it's pretty common for the price paid.

I could not find this notebook anywhere but here. I was wanting a notebook for my kids to practice their writing. This is just perfect for my 1st grader as they did not have the Grade 1 primary book.

Best notebook we've ever used. Love how narrow the lines are. My 6 and 7 year old are writing much neater and faster.
