Whisper Me a Love Song 1

Fluffy, innocent girls' love
Fluff isn't really my cup of tea, but in some cases it's just irresistible. Two girls meet by chance when the lead singer in a high school all-girl band bails and they have to find a shy, reluctant, replacement vocalist. The girl makes an instant fan out of a freshman girl on the very first day of school, and the freshman immediately makes a love confession! Turns out, she only meant to say she was the singer's number one fan and loved her voice, but the singer takes it the wrong way and returns the confession, saying she fell in love at first sight. The two girls may or may not be on the same page, but they spend the entire first volume of the manga becoming close friends. They're together every day, rain or shine, and everyone around them already thinks of them as a twosome.I thought the art was really pretty. I really liked the singer's personality. Her crush is a fairly generic cute girl type but I enjoyed the story anyway and want to read more.

Some favorable parallels to Strawberry Panic
Whisper Me a Love Song is a new yuri series and the first volume is a very strong one. We have our leads, Himari, a new high school student, and Yori (quite the name for a character in a yuri series), a senpai interested in music. Indeed, their relationship gets underway when Himari falls head over heels for Yori when she sees her sing. Before long, the two are bonding. A dilemma emerges: are the girls reading each other right and do they understand what the other wants in this relationship? As anyone who has seen my reviews of other yuri series knows, Strawberry Panic is my gold standard for such series. Whisper Me a Love Song compares most favorably. Another recent series, Failed Princesses, called to mind the relationship between one Strawberry Panic couple, Nagisa and Shizuma. Himari and Yori have parallels between the other couple, Hikari and Amane. Yori is like Amane in that both are loners who have become cool and popular almost against their wills. Himari is similar to Hikari by being petite and learning the ropes at her new school. As long as upcoming volumes retain the strength of the first, Whisper Me a Love Song will be a fine series.

Love It!
Absolutely loved it. As a Yuri fan, I enjoyed every page. I found myself laughing, giggling, blushing and facepalming constantly. The only thing I'm mad about is I didn't realize this was a new series. Now I gotta wait months and months for the rest of the series to come out. Definitely worth the buy if you're a fan of Yuri.

Fun, adorable, and sweet
The art is wonderful, and the premise is a cute twist on the concept of a comedy of errors, where a misunderstanding sets the scene for the story going forward. It's not *particularly* comedic, mid you.... it's a lovely, relatable tale of first love and well worth the read.

Amazing story and art! Poor handling
I love this manga so much, I’ll definitely be ordering the next few soon! My only issue is that it was not handled carefully, and arrived with one corner bent. Every single page had that corner curled in a way I haven’t really been able to fix, and it was kind of frustrating to be honest. It was a very small corner though, so it doesn’t really disrupt the reading experience.

So cute!
I adore this so far! A plucky young protagonist and her standoffish upperclassman, is such a fun dynamic! I also really love how supportive Yori’s friends are about her crush, because I feel like you don’t see that in a lot of Yuri mangas.

Great book
This is my first yuri and shojo manga and so far I'm loving it. But I do have a few issues my volume had the first two page's switched the wrong way. And it is taller than the second volume. It also has multiple marks on the front and back cover, and it is not glued together very well.

A lot of Smiles and Laughs as I read this cute Shoujo Ai Manga
On her first day of high school, Himari Kino is short on stature but not on her love at first sight of Third Year, Class A high school student Yori Asanagi. The humour of the excitement Himari feels about Yori and her lack of inhibition in telling her so is entertaining. It only gets funnier when Yori admits her feelings towards Himari and the latter brands them: “love at first sight buddies.”This cuteness is taking on a whole new level. Especially when Yori’s love unlike Himari’s isn’t just the musical kind. Yori declares “I’m going to make you fall in love so hard.”Such great humour with the perspective each character takes on regarding the declarations of love that take place and of how Yori’s bandmates are supportive of Yori’s love for Himari just keeps me smiling as I read this very enjoyable shoujo ai manga.

Lesenswert!
