I really enjoyed learning about this new culture; however, I had a hard time identifying with the characters because I cannot swim!! Let alone hold my breath for five minutes in ice cold water!! I did identify with the the themes of friendship, loss, and history. Highly recommended for Lisa See fans!

For the first time discussion leader, definitely better than no guide. For groups who meet regularly, a discussion leader must prepare by making typical generic into more in-depth, challenging.

I thought this would be primarily a synopsis of the book, but it only gives a rough idea that could be covered in a few pages. The rest of it is just discussion questions.

I wasted time and money...I read the book and wanted to structure a discussion, not possible.
