Daystar KJ09188KV 2" Lift Kit for the 2020 Jeep Gladiator

Got this lift for my daily driver 2020 Rubicon Gladiator. I didn't need some super flex, mondo, lions back crawling, crazyness. I just wanted to lift it 2 inches, so I could put 35x11.50s on it.....And I think it looks great. All the parts lined up correctly, and I did this lift by myself. I do have a 2 post car lift in my shop, so that probably helped some. But it can be done by one person. 2 people would have been nice for the rear to hold the axle down, while the other guy slipped the spacers in. But with some pry bars, and blocks I got it done....

So far so good. Have yet to install. The control arms arrived scratched so I repainted them to avoid any rust in the future. The lack of instructions was also a let down, I understand that it’s a relatively simple kit to install, but some general direction would be nice (torque specs, specific bolt locations.)Will update when I install the kit, but as of right now four starts simply because of the scratched control arms and the lack of instruction.

The kit came with vague installation instructions. There is no detail of the tools required to complete the installation, vague assembly instructions for some of their components, no torque specifications and very disappointed because there were several components missing (e.g. rubber bushings and some screws). Also, Daystar customer service only work Monday through Friday and they never answer customer's emails (based on my experience). Other than that, the quality of the components received is above average and the ride quality of my Gladiator was not affected in any way (i.e. the suspension geometry was not affected significantly).

This kit is a good value for the money. It allows you to retain OEM ride quality and is a fairly simple install. I have had other Daystar products and never had any issues. This kit had one issue that ended up having to be addressed. All 4 bushing sleeves for the included control arms had a welding seam running down the inside of them. These bushings are designed to be a tight tolerance on the bolt to not allow movement/wear. This weld seam prevents you from installing the control arm bolts. I had to grind them all down. That is not a huge deal, but be prepared to spend a decent amount of time with a file. I have installed plenty of sleeved bushings from Daystar and other manufacturers, but this is the first time I have encountered this. If it weren't for this issue it would have received 5 stars. This is a basic requiremnt of a bushing sleeve in my opinion.

Had high hopes. Sway bar linkage bushings have torn after a day on washboards and the alignment of them should be much better. Two of the locking nuts keeps backing off. Hardware is way too long. Shock extensions offset the shocks so the plastic covers now rub the paint off of the shock body. Spacers are very nice quality. For the money, it should be a better kit. It kept a nice rake for towing, but I will likely have to buy better sway bar links and will either trim bolts or buy shorter ones. Not pleased with the quality of the kit

Absolutely love this lift on my Max Tow Sport. Pretty easy install if you have a second pair of hands. Make sure you have a breaker bar for the control arm bolts, they were the hardest things to remove from the Jeep. 37’s fit perfectly as well Incase anyone was wondering!

I love the lift and rides like new. Had to leave front spacer in with lift to get the extra 3/4” lift to level rake....
