Ill-designed; Total failure; NOT CAPSELA
Like many others, I wound up finding this product after searching for Capsela. I have fond memories of building cars with those big red wheels and fan-powered boats with those bright yellow floats. As a kid, I loved feeling like a mad scientist and had so much fun playing with Capsela while simultaneously learning a thing or two about engineering principles. Fast-forward to me in my forties, twenty years into an actual career in engineering! Although I found that the original Capsela brand I had as a kid, which was made by Mitsubishi, was no longer around, I was excited to learn of this new "IQ Key" brand that seems have picked up where Capsela left off. This is a rather pricey toy, but I was feeling reminiscent and remembering how much fun I had and how much I had learned from Capsela, I decided I was willing to make the purchase. Surely the price tag must reflect the quality of the product, I thought.Well, I was wrong. After actually getting my hands on this set and trying it out, I can tell you it's not worth a tenth of the price. The outer capsule parts are made from thin plastic and feel flimsy. The moving parts are loose and ill-fitting -- the wheels have so much wobble in them that any car-type vehicle will just go around in circles rather than a straight line. And worst of all.... BY FAR worst of all.... The connections between things are not tight. The tolerances are not correct on the friction-fit connections, like where two capsules meet or where the battery pack or switch is affixed to another part. In other words, you spend 15 minutes building something on the kitchen table, then when you pick it up to place it on the floor, the part you've grabbed slips off of where it's connected and the rest of it falls to the floor and everything else breaks apart into a scattered pile.I cannot stress this enough! This product is terrible! This is a cheap knock-off of Capsela. No wonder they charge so much -- It's a money grab until the word gets out. Please don't waste your time or money on IQ Key.

Not Capsela quality but the best alternative that's a MUST buy for 5+ kids
This is an excellent toy for kids 5+. My son loves it and spent two whole weeks in his basement going through the projects and playing with it. Don't bother with the # 400 set compared to this. I will warn you though that the toy is of noticeably lower quality than Capsela if you played with the original. Also, some of the connectors do slip off and are not the tightest fit at times and this is what removed a star. My son have to hold it carefully while moving it to avoid it breaking up from a heavier side due to this.
