GREAT CONCEPTUAL ANALYSIS but needs serious QC
Great theoretical treatise. Solid practical supplements. Massive knowledge bank. Meticulous analysis. But really sloppy editing and terrible proof-reading - full of spelling+syntax errors and inconsistencies - need to be corrected in later editions; publisher/editors, hark!

Treasure-chest of knowledge
Just received the book & started reading. Great concepts explained which earlier I had no knowledge of.The spelling error in the cover title “HIDUSTANI” with a missing N is stark considering the fact that it was published first in 2010 & reprinted in 2017.

Highly recommended
A long time appreciation for Raga music compelled me to order this book. The language is concise and so far I find my concepts of musical form enhanced by the logical style of Anupam Mahajan. The vocabulary of Indian classical music is presented gradually ( along with some Western terms) & specific ragas & their moods are methodically introduced. A good read for musicians/composers looking to explore their craft through the lens of an accomplished Indian artist.
